I put down $1,000 after I saw the truck at the Chicago Auto show. They told me last month that they had an allocation for an Inferno, but when I asked them the next week about getting that the manager said that it had been a Tundra and it was sold to a large local construction company.

Anyone on here have a way to check what allocations a dealer gets?

the only way your going to see a dealer allocation amounts is for them to let you see the dealerdaily website for the dealer. it shows allocation amounts for each type of Tacoma they are allowed.

Just know you can't expect maintenenance, reliability and depreciation to parallel on a BMW. While I like them for looks, comforts they're a rapid depreciating money hog to keep in good order.

The Tacoma Pro doesn't have any packages to add on. That MSRP is already fully loaded with almost all the packages minus some minor options (roof rack, paint protection, bed mat), but it does come with other options options already added (floor mats, wheels, shift knob, lighting upgrades, skid plate, etc).

I would be surprised if they don't offer the JBL upgrade tho.

Plus they depreciate like a rock. Not worth it. After owning an E46 and E90 M3, its not worth the 'performance' for the money and depreciation rate.

As i have said in other threads, it won't be an option. They do not have audio as an option in any other PRO line up.

I have the JBL upgrade on my OR. It's OK but not that big of a deal.
In hindsight I should have gotten the Premium tech package and the added the OEM system for $1500.

Oh I agree...most radio "upgrades" are not worth half the price that they charge you. I'm just surprised that they won't be offering it to people who are already willing to shell out for the top-of-the-line Tacoma. You would think it's simple enough to add since they already offer it in other trims...

Do not put Armor All on your fenders or anything else for that matter! It has silicon in it which will dry up the plastic and your fenders will become "addicted" to it and you'll need to keep putting it on to get the shine back.
When it comes to washing and detailing your car do everything gently and naturally as possible. If I'm not using a bucket with my good soap at home, 75% of the time when I go to the do it yourself car wash I only spray my car down with water, that's it. I put Adam's Super VRT dressing on the tires but that's it. If you must put a dressing on your fenders do your research and find one that's silicon free and formulated not to fade plastic. Definitely don't put that junk on your dashboard either! It's just a quick fix made to look good for a few days but it's not good for your plastic. For the most part just leave everything alone except the paint which you can hand polish with a 100% pure carnauba wax or possibly one of the newer high quality polymer paint sealers which I think I'll be trying out on my Pro.

Why is it better than Armor All?

Doesn't dry stuff out like armor all. We use it in the rafting world, keeps boats protected and supple for decades.

I was anxiously awaiting the 2017 Tacoma TRD Pro. However, once I got the 2017 TRD Pro pricing from my dealer and looked at the 2015 Tacoma TRD Pro vs. TRD Off Road (GEN II) resale values for comparably equipped trucks with 20,000 miles, I think I'm going with the Off Road instead.

Here's what I found based on the information available through NADA for a 2015 Tacoma TRD Off Road versus a 2015 Tacoma TRD Pro (both Double Cab, 4WD, Off Road Tow Package, and Entune)

    2015 MRSP:
    TRD Off Road $33,840
    TRD Pro $39,165
    Difference: $5,325

2015 NADA Clean Retail with 20,000 miles:
    TRD Off Road $33,625
    TRD Pro $33,525
    Difference: ($100)

That's a ($5,425) one year loss. I did not expect that. However, after the first year depreciation I would expect their values to almost mirror each other.

I think that if a buyer wants all the TRD Pro included options, keeps the vehicle stock, and keeps the mileage lower than average, and keeps the truck at least 3-4 years, there is a lot of value in the TRD Pro. I feel the 2017 TRD Pro is more of an upgrade over the 2017 Off Road than the respective GEN II Tacomas due to all the standard/required/upgraded equipment. However, no one has a crystal ball to know how the 2017 TRD Pro will hold its value compared to the GEN II TRD Pro.

I tend to flip vehicle every 1-2 years, so the TRD Pro doesn't make financial sense for me. I wish it did.

Main problem here is you used NADA which is completely worthless when it comes to Tacomas in general. I have no doubt the Pro will keep its premium. Go by NADA or KBB if you want to.. Resale doesn't matter to me, I'm not selling anytime soon.

Believe NADA is most commonly used by dealers for assessing value of used cars /trade values. Obviously they have a variety of other methods too. But I don't think NADA is a poor source to use
