Cons of 3 in body lift on a 98?

    Im about to pull the trigger on a 98 regular cab!! The only things that steers me away is the three inch body lift and a broken e-brake cable.

    Is a body lift that bad to have on? I dont offroad if that makes a difference...

    Is it difficult to fix the e-brake cable? The guy said it broke on the end of the pull handle.
    Thanks!

    btw he said there is a vibration (55 - 60 mph)because of the bigger tires, thats normal right?:confused:

    A body lift will raise the center of gravity of the truck. But if you are just mall crawling, there's really no harm in that. Bigger tires don't normally cause vibrations. How big is "bigger"?

    Fabtech 3" adjustable coil-over system, Alcan 8-leaf spring pack, Fabtech 3" body lift.
    man... don't let it steer you away. I offroad my truck HARD all the time, especially during hunting season and I have had ZERO issues with my body lift. granted I also have a 3" adjustable coil-over kit on it also with 2" aal's along with the bodylift. I have literally jerked the rear of my truck in the air by pulling someone out of a bad mudhole, been jerked out by other people with me being stuck, raced down rutted up logging roads deer hunting, and I haven't had one issue at all. Most of the people on here don't wheel hard at all and they say negative things about bodylifts just because they HEARD that someone had an issue with it. But.... do what you want, it's your truck.
    100% satisfaction with my fabtech bodylift here.

    the tires are bfg all terrain, the vibration goes away after 60mph though...

    I had a body lift on my 98 Tacoma for 4 years and never had any problems with it. Bfg all terrains are not a real smooth riding tire any way the vibration may be uneven wear(cupping) or a balance issue. I wouldnt let it bother me if its not real bad. Check out my photo gallery and the pic of the green reg cab is mine with the body lift, she went through hell and still is driven everyday.

    Is that a four cylinder? I know this question pops up maybe more than necessary but...hows the power with a lift and bigger tires?

    I always had cupping issues with BFG's on my 98. It was a 4 banger with stock 31's. Power wasn't an issue.

    Yea its a 4x4 4cyl with an automatic, the tires are 33x12.50R15 on 15X10 mickeys. The truck has never lacked for power, I wouldn't go racing but it goes down the road fine and is fun off road too. The 5 speed is a little peppier than the auto too.

    I have never had to replace that. If you do get a three in body lift, it's going to need lengthened (or relocated) any way.

    Hmm... and im guessing its not a matter of tieing something on to the end of the other cable? I wouldnt be too worried about it except it has to be functional to pass state inspection... Any idea on a price?
