Yes they are. I put the Wheeler's 5 pack on my 1st gen solo. When I put my Dakars on, there was no way I wanted to attempt it solo.

Nope. But I did dismantle, prefurbish all the scale and rust off them, then reassemble them before install. Which was a nice warmup. But maneuvering them in among brake lines and stuff, plus adjusting position and inserting hardware...it requires at least 3 hands. 4th is a bonus. I also had the greasable shackles, which need to be assembled in place. Check the write-ups.

Did you buy yours used? Mine don't seem to have any rust on them....
