NW WA Meet / BS Thread

FLAAAAAAASSSSHHHH FRIDAY!!!! I remember that. I think I drove with my headlights on all the time just hoping.....lol Got flashed once, but it was by a 250lb woman that wanted to eat me lol

 

Ok so I read both sides and here are my initial thoughts (I wasn't there at this last outing. I have traveled with both groups. I prefer the TW group and will only go on a NWOL if Jon or Phil are there. Not meant to separate NWOL but there are some that are far too laissez faire or unprepared):

NWOL - The OP 'rant" reads like someone attempting to eloquently describe that they abide by the rules, they never $hit in the woods and that they are 'better than' the group they saw doing something they didn't like. If someone came at me in an attacking/confrontational way, I would react with a big "FYYFF". Unfortunately, the OP put taglines of 'Toyota, assholes' in the thread which goes against the 4x4 community and creates a division (ironic since a majority of NWOL peeps are driving Toyota or have one as a trophy).

And just now, Joe, your post got deleted on NWOL.

Yup was deleted. I read @Yetimetchkangmi and screen shotted Alex's comment. Wasn't bad at all IMO.

 

Damn, it sounds like I missed an eventful day at Gallagher! I like Jerrad's point that horses shit and stomp up the "meadow" all the time and nobody starts a thread titled "Asshole Horses"

Got nothing against nwol, just a different group of people into a much simpler approach. Their trips always seemed to be more just go up a forest service road and camp vs actual off roading. Which is great just not something I'm into to much.

 

Wouldn't say you missed much really. Nice run up to the lake with 10 minutes of that event.

And I fing hate horses. Especially on hiking trails. Nothing like huge ass piles of shit in the middle of the trail and then when you come upon them, the horse riders acting all high and mighty

I saw his reply at NWOL and then it was deleted. Kinda funny since he didn't say anything mean and attempted to be constructive in suggesting people communicate and educate others if there are restrictions on where someone can drive and/or improve signage to that effect and then poof....gone. So much for healthy debate/transparency/willingness to hear both sides at NWOL.

Just saw Alex's newest post. I couldn't find it in the behaving badly thread, but found it under his SN. Seems the OP changed it from "Toyota's behaving badly" to "off roaders behaving badly". At least that what I remember reading or I'm crazy.
