Now explain to me how a new engine will have enough blow by to force oil out the seals and through the PCV system which by design is put on top of the engine, usually away from oil sources with baffles to protect it from oil splash from the cams. Over 90% of what that guy was catching was blow-by vapor, probably unburned gas, with maybe a few percent being oil volatility. Given that his PCV valve is working no over pressurization occurred. The blow by simply went into the crank then into his catch can.

If combustion pressure is able to blow by the rings, you also get blow by the other way during the intake stroke, this will be burned. Also any oil used to lubricate valve guides will be burned. Granted, they don't take much lubrication but any they get is burned. Top cylinder lubrication is also lost. I want my engines to use a little bit of oil. This amount is not usually noticed between oil changes, but extending changes out to 10k miles is enough to notice a little. Also, a little more oil is lost in top cylinder lubrication at higher rpm.

I changed my oil at 5000 miles. No oil consumption in that time frame that I could tell. I check my oil every gas fill. I checked before I first drove it off the lot when new and right after they changed my oil at 5000 miles. The dealer wouldn't change my oil at 5000 miles unless I paid for the service but they will do it under service contract at 10,000 mile intervals.

You need to learn how PCV works. I really don't have the patience to teach you. Nor do I care

The old 4.0 had a PCV replacement recommendation, the newer ones don't.
Our 3.5L I believe also has it in the same location on the rear of the engine, driver’s side.

I don’t see a PCV replacement interval in the maintenance guide for it either, but I’ll be replacing mine every few years as an added margin of safety, as I did, and do on my new 4.0L 4R

    Hope that helps
    Cheers!

If that was the case for my truck I would not get any free oil changes. It will take me 4 to 5 years to get 10,000 miles on my truck. My dealer is going to change mine once a year because I don't put many miles on mine.
