Did the horn come with the servo or is it one you had? It may be a larger/different spline count on the horn and this cause to the slack in it.

I thought that was a real full size scene there. Was looking hard at that rear axle trying to figure out what it came out of :anonymous:

Makes me miss my Honcho. On another note, I got my Budget Bomber Basher up and running. Runs like a raped ape and may get faster. I started out with a Traxxas 12t 550 and smoked my ae-5. It ran decent with it. Then I was fresh out of big power in my parts boxes, so I geared down from a 64 tooth spur to a 56 tooth because that's all I could do to run the sensorless motor I found. A 3650 can that's a 2100kV. I had it for the Wroncho build but it was too slow and I couldn't gear down enough with the scx10 tranny to make it work. With the Bomber tranny I could. 13/56 gearing on 2s and 3s is a blast. It's cheap gear and I'm waiting for it to burn up but it hasn't. No cogging either with the low kV. I ran 2-1200mAh packs through it yesterday from 12.6v down to 10.2v and the motor/ESC was just warm. I may have a combo that suits me. I did snap my servo horn off doing a cartwheel and have some on order. Then I'll likely snap off my servo plate or the case itself next.

I just ordered two ECX Ammp MT kits for my kids. I hope they're as tough as I've read they were because my kids are fairly rough. I kicked them off my crawlers.

Had a wee bit of a wreck with the Rustler. It was suggested I upgrade to CVDs. So I did. They're here but no instructions.
Looks pretty straight forward-is there anything I should know before tackling this?

Make sure all the joints on the cvds are greased.

This is for MIP CVDs but I think it'll work http://miponline.com/store/mip08123.html Couple instructions on there. I loved my Rustler, first real RC vehicle I got. Those things can take some serious abuse. Replaced a ton of stuff but it kept trucking. Then I went with a nitro Stampede, dropped the 3.3 in it and now she has way too much power. Wheelies for days!

Thanks! I got the Traxxas ones but they seem close enough to this. I'll definitely grease everything well.

It was a pretty spectacular crash...a couple of us were mobbing around a pretty big parking lot, I had my jump setup and had just come over it when two of us slid into one another-ass end of the Rustler took it pretty hard. We had a ton of fun. Managed to break an A-arm on my buddy's Slash. We're already trying to recruit friends :)

I got the new Traxxas axles installed. But I have other issues :) I guess something must have happened to the transmission or something...anyway, at least the axles look pretty bad ass.

My cousin went full throttle into a fence with mine and the gear box slid apart from the motor if I recall correctly. Good work on the axles!

I need to take it farther apart I guess. I also have some more bling too but I'm waiting for the original stuff to break first :)
