Six months ago I decided to replace my original still good battery with an AGM. I've heard the AGM is an 8 year battery. Guess I'll find out.

No Sparky. I am on my 3rd battery because even Red Tops die in 2 years in Florida. Something you could know by looking to the left. Also the OEM battery died in 2 years. Ask any battery place. Florida always means your battery dies before the warranty runs out so you never pay for replacements.

I totally understand you wanting a 710cca battery back in your truck. I bet they added the extra charge for that battery when you bought your truck new. I worked for two dealerships many years ago. This usually can be looked at as an oversight on most dealerships. I don't blame you at all though, I would be back in two weeks to get the new battery.

Limited lifetime warranty means the defective battery can be replaced once - meaning you have to buy the 3rd battery to get that battery's warranty

+1, the size and storage capacity are more important but I would not have let the put a lower CCA in myself. I hope to only visit a dealership for the vehicle purchase

OP: I had a similar event but totally different dealership experience. Last week my 2015 OR DCSB PreRunner battery failed to hold a charge. I called the dealership at 630am, left a message, my adviser called me back within 45 minutes and we agreed that I would bring it in after work (my convenience) and they would do what was necessary to fix it or give me a loaner if they couldn't make it right that evening. I brought it in and 35 minutes later I drove out with a new battery. Based on this thread, I just checked and they did provide me with a 710 CCA battery.

Sorry you had difficulties with your dealership and would not settle for the 675 CCA battery. I would insist on getting the correct replacement equipment.

For the record, my dealership is Right Toyota in Scottsdale, AZ and my service adviser is Matt Bocchi. (Two thumbs up). I'm chalking the premature battery failure to bad luck of the draw at the factory and living in a place that often feels like the surface of the sun. But don't worry, "it's a dry heat".

Right Toyota also in Scottsdale, AZ is also the dealership I have my truck worked on. They replaced my battery last year in my 2014 OR DCSB with no question. Checked and it is the 710 cca battery, plus it gave me an excuse to pop the hood since I just installed my Redline tuning hood quick lift today. I also would want the same correct cca battery in my truck especially if warranty is involved. When the battery fails I will probably get a Northstar AGM battery. Arizona is brutal on batteries but I have never had to replace a battery under two years oem or aftermarket. Good luck OP!

That is toyota and the way they do business. ...
My truck was in for the secondary air system.
Only one code showing valve stuck open and one closed.

Was told the full system was bad, tested bad and codes.

I ask what codes were there he could not say but it is all bad and has to be replaced. Now I already checked, had a shop check and test, only the valves.

When cornered and told I will be there to collect the parts for testing and send off he said hold on.
Then he comes back and said he could do just the valves as those were the only thing bad but they like to replace the pumps and other parts when the do the work......

Now after they did everything... Yep what I was told about 1900 for parts and close to 3000 for everything in the system...
I drive it home last night only to have everything on the dash light up and the same problem.
So it in in the shop again.... and will be again Friday....

Maybe one day I will get it back and run long enough to dump off and move on to some other brand...

Thanks Toyota, you cost me a bunch of time bunch of calls, and several headaches. ..
I lost trust in you and your products....

After a scheduled rear brake job that they had all the info and TSB up front......
I show up to get my truck worked on, easy rear brake job...After the better part of the day they said I was ready.... Great all done.
No. No not even started we just looked at it. Yep you need the brakes done.... We need you to bring it back tomorrow or next week and we will get the parts to do it....
Great how long, just a few hrs.. ok I will be back then.
After the beter part of the day they did the brake job.......

Toyota, you need to get with it.... You lie to your customers and owners.....
