well you can go off one jump, once. Then spend $1000s fixing it, and go off that jump again.

    Nothing worthy
Come on up to Canada.. THEN you'll have something to complain about.
    That's what a TRD sport's going for..

If you guys think $40k USD is bad, come up to Canada, where jobs pay the same $ amount (if not less), but in a currency worth 30% less, while all items (including cars) are listed at a 30%+ premium. My TRD Sport w/ tech came to $49300 out the door. With current mods it's sitting at over $60k CAD, and that's not counting anything easily removable, like the ARB fridge, solar panel, extra battery, recovery tools, etc.

    How's that $40k sound now? ;)

// edit - hah, @LEXICON had the same thought as I was typing this up.

A lot. Check out my build page.

Lets not forget exchange rate. You paid $38000 USD for that TRD Sport. Brand new....thats about right. The TRD Pro will be $53300 Canadian ($41000 USD).

Thats using today's $1:$1.30 exchange rate. So....sounds worse but its about right on the nose.

I'm talking about cost vs. income. If you make $50k USD in the US and come up to Canada, you'll make $50k CAD, which is a 30% salary hit (due to currency). But the CAD prices are not 30% cheaper than their US counterparts, but on the contrary, ~30% higher (currency, taxes, import fees, etc.). Add those up and you're spending a LOT more of your disposable income for the same thing.

If you start with $100k USD and buy a truck that costs $40k USD, you're left with $60k USD.

If you start with $100k CAD and buy a truck that costs $52k CAD ($40k USD + 30%), you're left with $48k CAD, or $37k USD. You now have 38% less in your bank account than a US person that bought the same thing in the US.

Not sure why, but Dodge doesn't do it for me. Neither does GM. I don't want a Ford, but its the least of the 3 evil (this is purely subjective deep in my head).....

That's what it boiled down to to me. I love the cummins, but my past with Chrysler is a bit spotted, which is the same with GM. They both seem to have non essentials that fall apart, interior bits and pieces, exterior trim, little electronic controllers and servos. You can see where the bean counters had their will. I feel both generally make some good modern drive trains. They're pretty solid in that regard.

I've seen this Raptor jump too many times and will watch it soo many more....

Funniest post on the video IMO:

    All of this started with-
Red neck: "I bet you can't jump that."
    Driver: "Hold my beer.."

    Ha!

Do folks really feel ok paying $42K for a midsize pickup? That price makes my stomach churn. You could get such a nice Tundra for that amount!

I've seem multiple dealers here locally advertise the 4Runner TRD PROs for 43k - 44k MSRP price.

If one of them would have been inferno instead of quicksand I would have jumped on one.

I'm betting a crew cab raptor will easily be 60K+. They were in that 50-54 range for the 2014, which was about the same as a fully loaded f150 platinum. Now the loaded platinum is around 65K.

F that! Makes the TRDP Taco seem like a complete bargain then.

I'm looking to get out of my current truck (2015 Sierra Denali 6.2L) and get into either TRDP 4runner, TRDP Taco, or TRDOR Taco. I currently spend about 2-3hrs/day in the truck on the highway and the Denali is perfect for that, as it's comfy, VERY powerful, and gets decent mileage (22 hwy). Problem is that I can't get out and explore and overland with it. Job is about to change where I will be <5 mi from work and can drive an overland equipped rig. Now between the 4Runner or Taco...

My dad has a 2015 Yukon Denali. Amazing truck.

I had a tacoma. Sold it and bought the 4Runner. Very few things I regret so far. Loe this rig.
