I am seriously looking at the 510/520 due to its small size. I like the idea of mounting it up high above the mirror. I agree about the 880 just having knobs, button and lights.

My 510 is mounted behind the visor on the passenger side . I'll snap a pic tonight when I get home from work.

I'm sure they all work OK. Most of the bigger one's can be modded to have more power but I didn't need that. To me in the Tacoma the Cobra 75 fit the bill very well because of the lack of space for a CB. But if you have room for the standard size CB then go for it. They certainly are cheap enough

Went with the unidentified 520 and love it. The mic is super cheap but it will do for now.
Paired it with a firestik 4' mounted off the tail gate with a spring and quick disconnect.

I need to tune this thing a bit more, I get some chatter on 495 but that's all I hear.

Thats an awesome site, @Darth_Yota sent me a link, good prices. You cant go wrong with those Uniden's!! That kit seems pricey, I came out to $165ish for the Cobra, coax, whip, spring, stud....but it looks like their throwing in an SWR meter, thats pretty cool, I'll need one too. And bracket options, so maybe your ok on price

Speaking of which, we should have an NE edition SWR meter to send to local members who need to tune :notsure:

After that I can loan it out just pay shipping and don't break it haha.

We could always do a meetup so you can keep an eye on it. Plus another reason to get together

Yeah 160 for their uniden kit. I would look around to price separately as well as local vendor

From what I've read all cb's are essentially the same within reason. It's the antenna and how is tuned/located that really matters the most.

Did I read that you all are meeting up around 9AM for the Henniker trip? I want to join you all and have my friends baby's first birthday to attend at 4. Id like to be able to make both seeing as I've missed the last few NE tacomaworld meets. How long would we be out for?

IDK but you can alway break off at any time. The Henniker area is a bunch of smaller trails so if we're done with one and you need to split then so be it.

BTW we are going to meet at Carr's Store 1561 Main St Dublin, NH. They have gas, food and ice. Everything anyone should need if in case they forget it

@Sloth Seth and I mentioned it awhile back plus I've got a buddy who's out in Shrewsbury who wanted to head out at the same time. If were taking 495 up we should pick a spot to all meet up off Rt 9 and a time.
