First off, very sorry for the loss. Stuff like this really sucks.

From speaking with people who are either cops or have had vehicles stolen, if it's not recovered in 24 hours chances are it's not going to be and if it is, many times you don't want it back anyways. So going to the acceptance stage might be most efficient.

I'm curious as to how USAA treats you and if they give you anything for the after market upgrades. I have them and am at the point where I want to start adding riders for additional coverage.

I'm hoping everything works out for you in a timely and efficient manner. Hopefully you find another 2nd Gen looking for a good home.

Fuck this shit here!!! What a nightmare....sorry OP. I swear to shit people these days just need a good ass whippin or a bullet to the head:infantry:. So sick of people thinking they can take whatever the fuck they want because they are pieces of lazy shit. I bet all the aftermarket stuff on your truck will be hitting craigslist , ebay and/or pawn shops in a day or two.

Good luck getting her back man.

Been there done that USAA asked for receipts if I had them, and for the things that I didn't to make a spread sheet and list the value.

The trigger word to getting your money back out of everything is "like kind and quality"

Nope. You might have some grief if it's some second-rate coverage, but when I lost a Jeep to arson, insurance covered everything including lift, mud tires, aftermarket top, hide-a-trunk, etc. etc. - every mod, bolt-on and doodad that it had. I had all my receipts and since the Jeep was less than a year old, my settlement turned out to be about $500 less than I paid for all of it, including tax.

I'm glad that worked out for you financially speaking.

Now, I have to ask, what was your frigging reaction to that when you first saw it? Did you just like come around your building one morning and find it and then do that thing where you walk backwards back around the corner and hope when you come back around again the situation would undo itself?

Often, things that are not normally in a vehicle will not be covered by Auto Insurance. But may be by your homeowers/rental insurance. In case you "gear" is not related or normal to operation of the vehicle and its valuable enough you may have to make or want to make another claim for that if its not covered.

    Sorry for your loss,

This is my fear about putting a bunch of money into my truck, then to have some SB steal it.

Best of luck, hope you get it back soon and in one piece.

I provided receipts of all my parts but it didn't do squat since they weren't disclosed to my insurance company. I guess some companies will cover parts as long as you have receipts while others will want an itemized list before providing coverage. My aftermarket stereo wasn't covered, but since the amp and sub box were not bolted or securely attached to the car they were covered by homeowner's insurance.

Here's a cheap device that can supplement an alarm. Put the motion sensor in your truck and the receiver nearby like in an upstairs bedroom that overlooks the driveway. [IMG]

I had a Toyota alarm that they sell from the dealer. The original owner had it put in. Honestly I don't know much about it, but it was touchy when I put stuff in the bed while it was on.

My first thought was "is this a joke" followed quickly by "did I leave it somewhere and not remember." Didn't think theft right away until I saw our 4Runner had been opened and ransacked too... My wife is more angry than I am. Just accepting it for what it is and trying to stay positive. I purchased the truck a few states away from a TW vehicle ad and will do the same when/if I get to buy again! I love TW!!!

Thank you so much for the truely laugh out loud moment!!!

Well USAA is a military company and half of the missing stuff was my military gear. I hope they understand that....

Thanks everyone for the support and suggestions. I have already started getting my receipts in order. TW is so awesome guys, thank you for the gray words, advise and humor!!!!

This is my attitude with things like this. I've had some things stolen and I just assume it's gone so I can start the get over it process.

You can look a it another way, think of the things you will do different, like long travel, bumpers, armor, supercharger, etc.. :)

I am dreaming big, these forums make me want to spend money and I am still recovering from buying my CNC Milling machines to make the tailgate locks and stuff.

Showing my wife all the cool pictures of your trucks, she just rolls her eyes because she knows where I am headed and realizes her kitchen is first and then unleash the mods. I certainly feel bad for you and would be seriously bummed if someone stole my truck after getting it the way I wanted it.

Once again sorry for your loss.

Priorities man. When you are out in the garage for two days installing your lift kit, you want to come back inside to some awesome food.
