Haha not really. So they are sending it to a body shop in a week or so when the 3m foam stuff comes in. They pull the hood put the foam in and repaint the inside. Hope everything goes well...

Well, Unlike yours, mine looks shitty underneath. Same dealer. Probably not the same tech. :(

If you're curious, my dashcam shows that they removed the hood, so overspray shouldn't be much of an issue.

Did they paint it? Pretty sure Toyota Dealers don't do their own paint work

It would be awesome if every single person called toyota about this on the same day. I bet they would get the picture.

Underside of the hood in the only re-painted surface. Mine looks great, sorry yours didn't turn out.
And yes I've never seen a spray booth at a Toyota dealer either. I understand you dont want you're hood repainted but it seems as though your options are limited? I'd suggest make a decision and move on.
    1. Do nothing and allow the excessive vibrations to damage the existing paint.
    2. Fix it yourself without paint.
    3. Allow dealer to fix for you
    4. Piss and moan until toyota gives you a super sweet skewp hood broh!
Anyways since this thread seems to be full of those stuck on option 4 I'm gonna go ahead and unfollow and continue to post in what have your done to your 3rd gen TODAY:jerkoff:

I have been looking to purchase a 2016 Limited and took one out for a test drive last week. I did not know of this problem with hood vibrations before the test drive and during the drive noticed the sun reflecting off of the hood which was vibrating like crazy. The salesman felt it must be normal. I was sure that a $41k dollar truck should not have a hood doing what I was seeing. Sure enough I looked it up on the forum and here it is....43 pages of vibrating hoods as well as many other 2016 issues. I have had 3 previous Tacomas and was really looking forward to my 4th but have put things on hold for now. Also during the test drive I heard what seemed to be a kind of whistling noise which I assume is from the control arms that I have since read of as well. Those 2 things were easily noticed on a first test drive....makes one wonder what else lurks beneath?

Good man maybe they'll fix it now that people are getting the message. They have a lot of quality control issues it seems on this gen.

The vibration on the truck I test drove was not as great as that on the video but was enough to cause the reflecting sun to flicker in your eyes which is how I first noticed it. It was annoying and not what you want to be thinking about as you test drive your potentially new truck. Turned out to not be my new truck. Also drove a Chevy the same day and hate to say which turned out better...so I won't.
Can't buy the Taco...won't buy the Chevy....now what?
Sold my 02 TRD v6 to clear the way for the new truck......mistake.....hindsight is 20/20.
