the heat wave caused the water to get too warm......so, around the 24th, an 11 yr old jumped in and that amoeba thing got in her nose ....the same stuff that whitewater place in Charlotte NC had...... the jellies are normally active now....but not in such great numbers!

I'm not worried about that amoeba thing....more worried my 8 yr old would get it from rough housing in the water...jellies will go away...but it damn sure limits fun stuff for now :/

That's a stellar set-up! I angle from my Emotion Glide Sport (little over 9ft) and love it. I can use my Ugly Stick and Tenkara rod from it with ease. But I've heard the Hobie Pro Angler is sweeeeet!! Jelly....

Sir, I believe you have achieved your goal with that yak! It took me one season to figure out the logistics of my kayak and gear. Took a header in the water once getting in it! It's all dialed in now.

Jandy, I hope I didn't make myself sound more "together" than I really am. I really do love who I am but that certainly doesn't mean everybody else does or that it's easy or comfortable being me. I just don't know how to be anyone else and honestly, even though sometimes it can be painful to be me I don't want to be anyone else :).

I'm think one of my biggest problems is I am scared of too much. I've always been the smallest one in a group and got teased and sometimes picked on just because. Before I learned to tell someone who is mean to me to "have a magical day" I didn't know what else to do so I would cry about that and a billion other things. I am better but if I don't know what to do in a situation I still get so frustrated I cry and I don't like that about myself either :(.

I was really hoping that this thread could be somewhere where we could talk about anything including this kind of stuff. It's nice to know that maybe I'm not so different :).

OMG Lauren, the things you are able to do with your truck are amazing. When I would work with my Daddy he taught me how to do things but one time I tried to clean the motor of my Camry the way he taught me. I did a really good job of taking it apart and organizing things but I kinda freaked out when I had to try and put it together. It took Daddy two weekends and a lot of evenings to make it drivable again . Daddy wanted me to try it again but I was too chicken.

In college I tried to copy what other girls did with their makeup but that didn't work out so well either. I interned for Disney for 8 months they taught me EXACTLY how makeup had to be applied when in character or I still wouldn't be very good at it. They were so strict everyone had to be inspected before they could even leave the dressing room.

I think I would definitely opt for jeans if there were bugs and especially snakes

I really hope you will talk more about your Ladies Codriver Challenge experience, that sounds really special :D
