People make empty death threats all the time without realizing the consequences. The person who you threaten probably doesn't know you aren't actually going to kill them. That is a mental stress that really sucks. There are psychos out there who will kill over nothing.

I had a guy for months calling me thinking I was sleeping with his wife because I accidentally called the wrong number one time. He was threatening to me and my gf saying he knew where I lived. I was 99.9% sure he was just a harmless crazy dude, but that .1% really weighs on your mind when you lock the door at night...

Covered in stickers and chrome stick-ons for extra horse torques and foot powers. Icon sticker gets me tons of travel, dozens of milimeters.
Statistically no one gets to the 7th link in a Google search.

    Incase you were wondering.

And they deserve it... They shouldn't threaten people.

Statistical outlier. Discarded by people who don't pass the 2nd link.

On a practical and legal level, you're right, of course. But if you take away the western view on a couple thrown punches (criminal assault charges), and treat them the same way as the rest of the world does, you'd be surprised at the effectiveness of the lessons learned.

I distinctly remember first fights in early elementary school years, fights on the street with friends and neighbours, etc., and no one got killed, lessons were learned, life went on. As they say, boys will be boys.

But what it also did was put those boys on the right path to becoming men, to understanding that not one of them is a special snowflake, that actions have consequences, and you need to use your head before doing something dumb. That does transcend into such seemingly minor acts as writing your name on a rock.

We live in a society of bubble wrap, safe space, and boys growing up into pussies instead of men. There is borderline zero accountability for anything and stupidity is outright encouraged and rewarded. Quite frankly, the gene pool needs a very serious trimming.

Had the fools that vandalized this trail received a little more discipline (physical or otherwise) in their earlier lives, there's a good chance everyone would be better off.

Yeah it's okay for kids to get in fights and for adults to in some circumstances. Same upbringing I had. Just doesn't make sense to get in a physical fight over graffiti to me. Maybe I'm just not hot headed enough though.

Oh yeah. Totally agree. Being an asshole to a person or animal I wouldn't think twice about throwing a punch. Especially if it's somebody in my family.

This isn't a case I would even think about hitting somebody though.

Some people learn that the world is a shitty place that doesn't care about them. Some people learn to roll with the punches, to get up, to persevere, to keep going. These people tend to succeed in life.

Others are taught that they're special, that everything they do results in an award ribbon regardless of their (lack of) achievements, that there will always be mommy/teacher/cop/TW moderator to protect them from the scary world. These people tend to become entitled losers.

In earlier years, the latter group would simply get trimmed off as part of natural selection, but with the advances in medicine, technology, and social bubble wrap, we've succeeded in keeping the parasites alive and pussifying the entire population around them. Works great for keeping the masses in line, though. Pussification of men, destruction of the family unit, and intentional dumbing down of new generations is working wonders for those that have (and want to retain) power and control. It's the new Religion, and safe space is the new church.
