2016 toyota tacoma trd sport with 14k. Stalled while driving. Message all systems failure, transmission failure, oil, and battery. Tried to turn it back on and it immediately shut off again. I waited 10minutes stuck in traffic with my child in the vehicle and tried again. Finally it ran enough to get it out of harms way. 10 minutes there after, it did it all over again. After a few hours in the middle of nowhere at night we were towed to the nearest Toyota dealership. Needless to say, "nothing is wrong with the truck"! So maybe I dreamt this nightmare? Any answers for me? I refuse to pick it up unless they fix it. I'm a working mom and Toyota is supposed to be dependable.

Confused here. First, this is your first post and it's a hate on Toyota blast. Profile also clearly states male, posting says mom.

Not calling you a liar, but something doesn't match up and we've had lots of trolls show up here before.

I just noticed that and it was a mistake I made while endlessly searching for answers last night. I am a female.

Your described a computer glitch. Conceivably, the dealership can reconnect the battery and plug it in, and all systems report back fine because they very probably are.

OP, can you give a little more info on what was happening when it died...you say it was stuck in traffic. were you stopped on an incline (like a steep bridge)? had you ever gone through high water (flooding has been common this summer)....did you happen to check to see what the temp. gauge was reading?

Not hating on Toyota. I have owned a 2008 Yaris, then gifted it to my mother, still running great.
This is my 1st Tacoma, I originally wanted to buy another Canyon because I owned a 2007 and that baby was put through hell and is still running. But I was told they were dependable.
I am looking for solutions, please. I own this truck now and really need to get back to work. Anyone else experiencing the same issues??

I live in a very flat part of Texas, no hills, just Hot! The temperature gauge and everything was normal before this happened. I had 1/2 a tank of gas. No other reason for this happening. I had my phone connected to Bluetooth during this incident. Thank goodness no flooding in my area.

If the dealership states it's running and shows good on the computer, go pick it up. The next time it happens (assuming it ever will again - it probably won't) photos and video are a diagnostic godsend. If you can show the service team exactly how the truck was performing, they'd be more likely to know if it was a mechanical, electrical, or computer problem.

Computers do fail sometimes, especially in places where it's exceptionally hot or cold. It's under warranty, and if it happens again the computer can be replaced. I had a '91 Chevy that got a new computer (such as it was) 3 weeks after I took it home. Never had a problem with it after that.

    Go get your truck.

When you do pick up your truck make sure the paperwork that you get back from the service dept. indicates exactly what you reported and what the service dept. says was done to remedy the problem. In other words get it all in writing!

its the holes in the control arm. the air passing over them created a significant vortex inside the engine compartment. basically you made a mini bermuda triangle. illumanti.

This. I also agree that if it happens again, take video/pics.

Heat, stall, able to restart to move short distance - CPS failure. Have them check your cat converter too.

So that's about 12 failures across multiple threads from my count.

too many in my book. if i 30 miles into the wilderness here, heck even a few miles to you know, go off-roading or whatnot that's a failure especially with my family. my 11 and 14 NEVER let me down. Ever.
