Does the trophy have an asterisk on it?

    I didn't think so.

You have to applaud Gilbert, dude had the weight of the world on his shoulders for 4 qtrs.

He showed awesome composure for a true freshman in what was probably the biggest game of his life. ( with no intent to even play in it)

look shit happens and alabama won it. but i honestly believe it would have been a different game if colt had not gotten hurt. im not saying texas would have won, but it would have been a different game.

i feel for gilbert, he's probably getting bad mouthed by a lot of texas fans but what can you expect of a true freshman to come in to the biggest game of his life. congrats alabama!!

it was a good game okay.. the 3rd quarter was the make it or break it point.. texas was only down by 3.. they made a couple of mistakes that made Alabama take the W...

yeah i would have said the same thing. anytime a key player goes out early with an injury, it changes the aspect of the game. would texas have won if vince young hadnt played? who knows. would texas have won if mccoy had played? again who knows but i wouldve liked to see what would have happened if he had played.

Nick Saben really didn't even seem to proud of it....I wrote this thread like 5 min after the game that's why i was being so ignorant , but damn 1st possession and our star is out. It's truly a shame.....would of been a whole different game. But I do tip my hat to the rookie freshman, I can only imagine what it was like getting called in, especially having to replace Colt

Saban doesn't seem happy about anything, ever. He just works, recruits, and wins. That attitude took Alabama from nothing to national champions in 3 years.

Did you see how pissed he was after the Gatorade shower? That's the attitude he has all the time. An even better example is after the second (winning) field goal block of the Tennessee game. The entire sideline is going nuts, but he looks concerned/pissed and is cussing about where the ball is. He's always working, never happy, and CONSTANTLY talking about 'the process.'

If you're on his side, you love it. If you're not, you criticize it. Just the way it goes, I guess.

I bet Mac is pissed he did not let the second string QB play a little ball in all of those regular season games now. Goes to show you...don't put all of your eggs in one basket.
