Got new tires on. Went from 245s to 265s. Didn't think I'd have a problem with size but unfortunately at full turn I get some rub on my uca. I can live with it though until I get rid of the shitty block lift

Hey Rob, and all others running MTR's, so i saw that my tires are mounted inside out. However, if i had the tires fliped and corrected, the wording is white. I noticed most of you have black lettering....did i confuse you yet?? Lol

I dont like the white lettering but it also bugs me that they are mounted incorrectly

 

perfectly normal to have one or the other on the outside. They are not incorrect.
Most tire shops will ask if you want white or black lettering to show before they mount them.

 

The outside of mine (black side) say on them "this side inwards"

Weird right? My ocd is driving me nuts..haha

 

you know what, after looking at the tread on your tire, they may actually be directional, but I'm not sure what direction, or for what benefit. Maybe you just have to swap them side to side? is there a direction of rotation arrow?

 

No direction arrow...but the way i have them setup reads as follows:

The inside states: this side outwards. White lettering

The outside states: this side inwards.
Black lettering.



I mean, if it doesnt affect wear on them i can leave them...but if its messing shit up then i guess i should have them flipped

Hmm Interesting I havent seen them mounted reverse before. But other than mud and debris deflection Inward instead of out I dont see there being a huge Issue. As long as your aligned they shouldnt have any weird wear, but thats just my two cents

The new tire with an asymmetrical tread design and Kevlar sidewalls promises to be a contender in the hot MT tire market. Goodyear says using Kevlar increases sidewall toughness and puncture resistance 35%. It also helps reinforce the sidewall for on-pavement driving. The asymmetrical (not symmetrical) tread design looks directional, but Goodyear says the tires are NOT directional, can run either way and have been tested that way.

 

MTRs are non symmetrical and non directional.

Shouldn't matter. But you can get them changed easily.

I did mine a couple weeks ago, so hit me up if you have any questions! I'm hoping to wrap up my tubbing this weekend and finally drive the damn thing.

 

Swapped the 2 year old Moog lbj's with brand new OEM.
Moog's were stiff when they came off...

 

Stiff in what way, like how a ball joint should be when new or full of grit and tough to move.

 

Surprisingly, the new oem units are very easy to move. I would have expected them to be stiff from the factory like you mentioned. But easy to move by hand
Now as for your question...The Moog's were stiff as in they felt dry, irregular movement, not smooth, minor binding.

Just went for a test drive, I was having a squeak under the front end on bumps, curbs, etc. It's quiet now and the wheels feel as though they are turning easier. All that's left as aftermarket is the steering rack. I did the outer tie rod ends too today.

 

tossed in a aFe pro dry air filter. =)

 

Picked up some 31x10.5x15 duratrac's. My Michelin 31's aren't going to cut it in a month or two when the muddy season starts in the woods for work. Picked them up 25% off.
