Not really. It slides left and right, not up and down.

So, the interior on the 4R is has a lot of room and comfortable and how is the handling and ride on a 4R TRD PRO vs Tundra TRD PRO. I like a firm and road hugging ride. Also can it tow ok! I hear it has a power rear tailgate window?

    can you fit sheet goods?

To me that is the main reason for wanting a truck. 4x8 plywood and drywall sheets don't usually fit in anything besides a cargo van.
There's other things you'd obviously only fit in a bed like couches but I know I'd for sure be moving flooring goods and drywall for home renos.

Daily driving, creature comforts, build quality, etc. - 4Runner over the Tacoma hands-down. Not sure how the Tundra compares, but probably a similar end-conclusion.

I got the Tacoma over T4R by and large because of the extra room. Rear seats are dedicated to the dog, so the only room to carry my large amounts of camping gear is either the SUVs trunk, or the truck's bed. The truck wins hands-down here. It really comes down to your personal needs.

Yes, it disappears into the tailgate.
4Runner tailgate window powers up and down into the tailgate.
Older 4Runners with the 4.7 have 7000lb tow capacity and the same tow package as the Tacoma, trans cooler, 130A alternator. I believe the newer 4Runners are 5000lb, but the same ClassIV hitch, 4pin and 7pin connectors, 130A alternator and trans cooler for the 4.0l.
4x8's won't fit flat into a 4Runner. I thought maybe with the rear window down I could slide 4x8's in but nope, the widest opening is 44 inches even with the rear window down.

Got my price today for a fully loaded OR. Notice I said fully loaded. The dealer INCLUDED all taxes and FEES. The OTD cost will be 40,255.00. Is this a good deal. I believe I can do a bit better. What do you think.

Whats the sale price of your fully loaded OR? $37500?
TT&T are non-negotiable so vehicle sale price would be best to base question with.

Ain't bad. Maybe able to chisel another 500 or 600 bucks off. Is it worth the hassle?

That's about what I bought mine for. $3k in taxes alone. If you're ok with that, do it. Just remember that you're going to lose at least 5k instantly in value. This is just standard with any new vehicle purchase. I mean to say if you want to sell it, you won't be getting anything near $40k...obviously

For the Tacoma TRD Pro, the big deal is the suspension the rest is fluff. TRD puts a lot of time into getting the suspension tuned for highspeed desert offroading and then going back onto the highway and daily driving. That's it, it's a desert truck, they've never pretended otherwise since they came out with the Baja edition. They test and tune the suspension in the California desert. It's dynamite in that role if it's like the Bilstein Baja setup, that was a nice suspension for washboards, both climbing and just as important braking downhill over washboards.

An aftermarket suspension can do the same, but I think you'd be about $2200 into it before installation. Keep in mind the Pro gives you extended travel shocks the moment you buy it, that's a big deal. Try to buy extended travel shocks and spring combos with big body shocks and rear reservoir aftermarket you're up around $4000 before installation.

I myself find it hard to pay $43k for a Tacoma, especially not even power seats at that price point. And I really love Tacos!

Raptors been holding decent resale value despite being a Ford. I'm sure there will be some 2017 Raptor price gouging. Obviously best to wait after dust settles. Also, Gen2 Ecoboost should be much better than the current, not to mention its going into the Ford GT. Here some previous and 2017 paid for thread. http://www.fordraptorforum.com/f260/raptor-dealers-selling-near-invoice-gen-2-a-49138/

Also, with price so high. I see why its easy to entertain the 4runner and Tundra option. I just wish Toyota would hurry and give us the next generation 4runner and Tundra.

Overall, auto prices have just been moving up and up over the years. Eventually I will be buying something regardless, 9 years and 215,000 miles currently. Still leaning on option for another Tacoma.

You're surprised? Actually a bit lower than I was expecting. Doubt you'll be able to find one for close to that price for a while either. Dealer markups like crazy

They just came out with pricing 48,000 for super cab and over 450 hp 10 speed auto with paddle shifters.

The Raptor resale is stupid high for the older trucks. My boss has people all the time asking to buy his Raptor and he will be buying the new 1 raptor as soon as they come out.
