What am I missing? Those don't look like they would stop more than a shopping cart...

I live in Hawaii, no Rubicon trail here, just shopping carts and lava rock!

Whats wrong with them? Dont look much different than other vendors other than slight designs.

Actual sliders are designed to protect the body from rock damage on the trail and in order to be strong enough they bolt/weld directly to the frame. These "sliders" attach to the body itself, first contact with rock and you're going to have very expensive rocker panel damage. At best these are slider-styled steps.

They mount to the body not the frame.

They don't attach to the frame so they're not meant for bashing on.

Your missing my point. I live in Hawaii, there is no Rock crawling here, they are made for light offroading and door dings and be step bars. Just a perfect product for my need and great people to deal with!

That is why I'm sharing my experience with the vendor, These are perfect and bolted on in 10 min. 12 8x25 with 1.25 pitch thread bolts.

Nope, didn't miss your point at all, these steps will be great for your needs. JWROSE4 just asked how they compared to sliders.

They bolt to the body, not the frame. I started that way. Then I had Avid send me the parts, found a welder, and threw caution to the wind. Once you cross over, there's no going back.

Maybe you should tell @deeezy he doesn't need rock sliders in Hawaii.

What did they cost you? I'd run them on my PreRunner if they are at least half the cost of real sliders. Looks good!

Can you really call those Sliders? Doesn't seem like they could withstand much of anything.
