    Howdy!

If anyone knew the struggle I am about to tell it would be this group of folks.

I am from Texas stationed in California. Came back from overseas and built up a very capable Jeep JK 4 door but after a while I felt more storage capacity was needed so I sold it and went looking for a new Tacoma. I saw the Inferno color on a TRD Sport at a dealership and knew I had to have it but the TRD OR DC in manual. You would have thought I was asking the dealership for the holy grail or something. On top of that I found out the hard way that California doesn't let you register a vehicle out of state if you buy from them and they make you pay their sales tax or no deal. Took two failed attempts at buying another color tacoma for me to find out there was no way around it. So I found this baby online in Colorado. Asked about it on Thursday. Bought a plane ticket and flew out Friday. Drive it back the 1000 plus miles back to cali and arriving 15 hours later.

Every time I look at my new truck I have no doubt that the trouble was worth it to get the color I wanted in the transmission I wanted. I still hurt a bit from selling the Jeep but I'm sure this truck will fill the void until I get another one. I am happy to join this community and hope to learn more about tacoma's!

I feel your pain! I too was looking for that unicorn. Inferno, OR, SB, Prem & Tech, towing and a few other minor things. Dayyyysss searching and calling every dealership Atlanta to Seattle. (I'm in central CA). Found one by phone in Las Vegas. Put a credit card deposit in it and drive the 6+ hours the next morning. Stayed over and drove home the next day. I hurt a bit, I traded a 15 4R ltd fully loaded...

And CA tax laws suck but they were actually cheaper than what Nv was going to charge so I didn't do anything other than buy in that state.

Nice! The dealer gave me the chance to have the pick of their first shipment of 2017's mid next month but I couldn't wait.

    PlastiDip'd the grille yesterday:

I already posted it in the big Plastidip thread, but figured I would post it here in case other Inferno owners were thinking about it. I hadn't seen another OR with the same dip style in Inferno (e.g., all blacked out, only emblem left chrome); the only one I could find was a Sport.

Anyway, I like the contrast of black/chrome, and I think the remaining chrome is a good balance with the black bumper.

It looks good EJ. I did all of mine. Including the trim piece. I prefer the whole blacked out look personally.

I'm about halfway through the plastidip tread and have only seen one person do their emblem in orange but the truck was not orange. Has anyone seen that done or if it would even look good?

I've seen it, I can't remember where. It looked sick with the rest of the grill black. I want to do it to mine. I don't know if orange plastidip is the right color though.
