As some of you may be aware of my issues with the suspension TSB, I have not had much luck with Lakeside Toyota. Here's the synopsis:

Visit 1: They replaced the original equipment with new versions of the original equipment.
    Visit 2: Replaced proper equipment.
Visit 3: Replaced front pair of tires because after 6 months of driving, the tires were worn out because they never did the required alignment.

[rant]:mad:As I received the vehicle, I noticed the rims were dirtier now than when I brought them in. There was also a lot of lube on the rim from when they pushed the tire on. I wasn't going to completely wipe down the rim to check for scratches because I figured they could handle it.

Well, now my rims are clean and I can see they left a skinny 4" long scratch from the tool they used to remove or install the tires. This is the part of the rim that sits up right next to the tire. The only person that would ever notice it would be an anal retentive owner as he was cleaning his wheels.

So I called up Lakeside just to chew their ass out. There is no way I would let them touch my truck again. Each time I bring it in, they're probably tagging it somewhere.

I just called up the 800 number and informed them that I will never be going there again and the ideal result is going to be a new rim. The guy there was very accommodating and asked me to get the price of a replacement and he was going to get back with me on Friday.

Any guesses on the rim price?

    $517.88 plus tax!

If I had scratched it, I would probably only pay $10 to undo that scratch, but the fact that Lakeside Toyota has screwed up, yet again, I want to stick it to them. [/rant]

That much money for a wheel? Don't you have a standard Tacoma Wheel?

My heart goes out to you on this one, I fell bad enough when I do something dumb to my truck but when it is cause by someone else, especially at a dealership . I fully understand why you are pissed, I wouldn't let it go until you are fully satisfied and get what you want.

As for the wheel  what a price!!! To bad you are not close, I would sell you 4, they are coming off this Friday when my lift is installed.

A quick question, why is it they can charge that much for that wheel, but I was told if I sell my wheels w/tires they are only $100 each?

I'm getting the TSB suspension next week when they get the parts in.
How will I know that they aren't not just putting new version of the original shocks back on it?

the new shocks will be yellow and blue and the springs will have 4 leafs instead of 3. I'd be more worried about the alignment. Make sure to get the alignment report before you leave. If they say it isn't necessary, tell them that they will be replacing your front tires in 6 months if they don't.

Feel your pain man, the dealership is the place that is supposed to take the best care of your truck, but some of them are managed by a-holes

yeah, that's what I USED to think. Another dealership may repeal my general opinion of dealerships, but it isn't looking good.

I have realized that some people on this site know more about this trucks then the "professionals" taking care of them at the dealerships, you ask them questions about TSB's and they dont know shit

Those rims are not worth $500.00 + dollars, I have the same and opt for the steel. Sorry you have to deal with a rank dealer, my up here is cool. Good luck.

I just bought my Taco. What is this TSB you speak of? How can I tell if it was already performed on my '06? I bought it used.

Is there a list of all TSB's?
