It's wide open. No one escorts ya to any spot and there's no markers for "spots." It's wide open. The key is to section off a spot asap for the amout of rigs expected. People are very territorial.

And yes. Everyone bring firewood. Additionally, floor mats work in a pinch if you get stuck. Maxtrax are the business. I have floor mats. haha Maybe maxtrax by then.

I plan on heading up Friday.

I'm also totally good with potluck style. Would work way easier for me since my camp game is weak. Maybe we can start a list of what's needed?

@goblue82 we are headed out late Friday should be on the beach around 9pm so we'll be no help marking off an area :(

And guys, if you air down, air down just after the Ranger station on the pavement, Don't wait to get on the beach. It becomes a clusterfuck with all the toy haulers and news getting buried 20' onto the sand. 18lbs seems to be a good number for tires.

I haven't looked but I'm 99%sure my prerunner has hooks in the front and I have a tow hitch for easy peasy towing points in the back. If you guys tow anything air down the trailer tires too.

Food wise....ill see if we can grab some Carne and tortillas. Figure what, 20 people?

Covered in stickers and chrome stick-ons for extra horse torques and foot powers. Icon sticker gets me tons of travel, dozens of milimeters.
@Thesandaddict definitely check for the front hook and loop frame points, I can't remember if the sports have them. The TRD Offroad pack definitely does.

I think confirmed right now we're less than 20 but shit happens? we expand!

Should we start another thread for logistics and what not? I can being food, Dutch oven, prep table, and some other stuff. Our camping game is decent.

As for head count goes, it's gonna be me plus two kids.

What time are you headed out on Friday? Perhaps meet somewhere north of LA and caravan?

+1 for airing down before you hit the beach. I saw rigs and RVs bogging down mere feet after the entrance gate. Air down, pass the gate, head for the wet sand and turn south. Don't be the guy that bottle necks the entrance. Haha.
I have a 15 sport and it has a factory front loop. I presume the 16 does as well.

My 16 sport has a hoop. I'll hang a shackle up front in advance also.

@goblue82 I'll get a better idea on time. If I had it my way, it would be early. But since the girls are coming, who knows.

So I'm thinking of picking up one of those cabin style tents for this trip. Nothing fancy, just roomy. Is that a good call? Will it hold up, or should I stick to a large dome style tent?

We saw one cabin style tent and the wind was blowing pretty hard onshore. It seemed to be holding up ok. Just be sure to throw plenty of weight inside such has clothing bags, etc. Stakes add to securing it but the sand is, well, sand so they're not full proof and stepping on one bare foot would suck.

Edit: Alex, keep me posted on time as the date draws near. I'm leaving as soon as morning rush hour clears a bit. I'm 4 hrs from pismo. Planning on leaving at 10am from my pad.

Maps says I'm about the same time wise.

I plan to get sandbags to use in place of stakes.

    I'll keep you posted

Also, for all you wheeling folk. Thought I'd ask since you're all local. Anyone wanna buy some 285/70R17 (33"s) BFG K02s? I just got new wheels and tires in a difference size, the BFGs are basically new, 95% tread left.

With no shell I suggest you bring plenty of blankets. The wind chill at night can be uncomfortable if you're used to sleeping in a controlled climate.
