So that would mean the 2017 models are going to have different gear ratios?

Currently itis the opposite right? Autos are 3.9 and manuals are 4.3...

Something tells me there is a misprint...that would be a pretty big deal if they were to change it.

I wonder if due to all the complaints about the autos lack of power they lowered the gearing. Then realized that would screw there mileage ratings so they raised the gearing in the manual? Is so the 2017 manual will get great mileage but it will be useless for truck tasks.

^^ If the '18 bunch test drives them and doesn't make the same mistake the '16 bunch did.

    Hope that helps
    Cheers!

I still don't get why they're having the rear window roll side to side rather than up and down. Wouldn't the latter be easier mechanically?

    Hi folks,

Got a call from my dealer yesterday who got his first 2017 in the basic config I want: 4X4 Double Cab Long Bed TRD Off Road. Just missing the Tech Package (Sun Roof etc.).
He said only notable difference for 2017 was power rear window. He said he couldn't take my deposit until he could confirm that he could in fact order one as information was still scarce.

I guess that answers the grill question.

I know the owner manual says the rear power sliding window comes with TRD packages. But I don't see power sliding rear window on the sticker sheet. ??

The dealer told me that he was concerned that he didn't see that option either.

The power rear window is standard. It was on that one. The switch was down on the left of the dash. I took it for a drive and was pleasantly surprised at how quiet the cab was.

Anyone figured out for sure if they switched the gearing in the 2017s?

If they did I'm gonna blow up my god damn diffs and demand the 4.30 ratio so so so pissed if they did that I'm out 2500 to regear so my truck doesnt feel like I'm towing 2000 pounds all day on acceleration like seriously These 3.90 auto ratio does not work well with the 3.5 4.30 should have been an option or something at no charge from factory if you want better mileage get 3.9 if you want truck gears and power off the line like towing you can get 4.30. End of rant
