Don't blame you. I'd settle into the new house and make sure everything is on the up and up before spending a bunch on the truck. Besides all pro will have a sale on Black Friday and Labor Day sales. But I'm and old guy according to some people. Thinking all rational and crap.

So once I start increasing macros how long would you say it would take for my weight to level back off? Like after a cheat there's wAter retention, bloat, etc and usually lasts for 2 days. Will it be the same with adding on a daily basis? Or take a week or two for me to adjust?

That's what I was thinking. I don't wanna drop close to $2k on my truck and then be out for something I really need.

I think you'll gain your water weight at the very beginning and you'll hold it for the entire bulk unless you decide to go low carb for a week or take a diuretic or something.

Bulk starts today. Gonna try to stay around 2500 cals until I stop gaining there, then head up to 2750-3000. Trying to slowly gain this time so I don't get a belly like last year. Started my creatine back last week. Still gonna do interval cardio to try to stay leaner.

But, looks like I'll be taking at least a few days off from the gym because of this ass issue  I'm gonna see how it feels this evening after work, but I don't see myself feeling good enough to go squat or deadlift.

Went a bit crazy with food this weekend. Went out Friday night. Stuck to water but fell face first in a massive pile of Nachos. I dont think I could have avoided the nachos, so cutting out beer makes up for it...right?

Then Saturday we went to see bad moms. I got a large popcorn because I had to skip dinner...then went home and had a late dinner.

Decided on Sunday to put my smoker to use and tossed two rack of ribs on it for about 7 hours. They came out awesome. I went light on the rub/sauce at least...

It's been 1 month now since I started my bulk. Been mostly consistent at a ~500cal surplus @ around 3200cal/day. A couple cheat meals, but nothing crazy. I've gained 10lb so far (from 216 to 226). I feel good, but I feel like I shouldn't be gaining weight so fast. Don't feel bloated. Don't feel weighed down in any way. What do you guys think?

Ten pounds a month is a pretty big surplus. I'd cut it back to only like a pound a week to make sure I didn't add to much fat.

However if you feel good and look good if say fuck it and keep going

Are you weighing at the same time of day? Maybe the extra carbs you're eating added some water weight. I wouldn't worry too much about it unless the mirror says you're getting fat

No offense, but why're you bulking if you were already 216, now 226, at 6'1? I'm 6'1 168 and am pretty strong, granted I'm like 8-9% bf. I guess I just couldn't imagine myself anywhere near 230. I'm shooting for 195 at 6-8% in the next few years and would be huge at that point.

That sounds super shitty, but at a certain point you're just adding fat.

My maintenance is just a bit over 2500 :-/ I don't get why there's such a difference. Does height really make that big of a difference?

I put myself at 18% body fat, 210 (I'm obviously still heavier than that 218-220) and 6'3" with and selected sedentary (not sure I picked right) but for maintenance I am under the impression you always pick sedentary.

Honestly, no. I just weigh myself when I get to the gym every day. I was pretty consistently 216 before and now I'm 225-228. I was gaining about 2-3lb/week for 4 weeks. The last week I've leveled off. The surplus is definitely an increase in carbs (mostly sweet potatoes, brown rice, oatmeal and quinoa). Could very well be a large percentage water weight. Mirror says I'm getting bigger. Not all fat and/or water but not 100% lean gains obviously.

Because gains... My goal is 210-215 sub 10% BF. I've always been big. Everyone in my family is big. My brother is 6'4" 260lb and around 17% naturally. I couldn't be 168 if I wanted to. I trained for a marathon 2 years ago and did nothing but cardio, frequently fasted and only cut down 187. That's the leanest I've ever been.

I think the best time to weigh yourself is after you wake up and piss. Honestly though, it sounds like your bulk is doing fine.
