has anyone swapped out stock lights for these leds ?

Wondering if you noticed a difference ?

Had these for 5 months like them way better light and two year warranty I swapped all Three high low and fogs with these

I didn't realize MORIMOTO had led the HIDs melted the lens on my 2010 might have to get a set of the LEDs for the wife's 4Runner

 

These are brand new like about a month or so old!!!

I know hids get hot and can melt things. ....

But the leds seem to have heatsink style Cooling fins and even a fan..... I wonder if a fail safe exists if the fans stop working .......would the leds over heat and melt as well?

Yeah. They've been awesome. They do get hot but I think that's going to be across the board.

 

Intalled mine a few weeks ago, love them so far. Did the lows and the fogs, liked them so much I'm doing the hi beams this weekend. You won't be disappointed.

 

I just did mine yesterday is it's alot better. Highly recommend LEDs versus HIDs. Just not a fan of the ballast going bad on the HID kits.

We went with BF Xenon. Just as good, I would say even better than PIAA.

What really us is the design of the heatsink, others are super large and even tacky looking with the braided ribbon heat sinks. It's low profile and you'll need it on the 2016 Tacomas. There is a piece of the core support or fender that gives you very little room to maneuver the old and new bulb in/out of the headlight. We ended up removing the bumper, fender flare and headlight to install the bulbs.

Did anybody have to redirect the light towards the ground after installing LEDs [I hear of blinding oncoming traffic] ?

 

I haven't been flashed yet. I didn't adjust mine at all. I would guess that if your truck was lifted the lights might need to be pointed slightly down.

 

just bought opt-7 , they don't seem to be the same fittings as stock [pic 1 is headlight] [pic 2 is fof light]. Also plug for headlight is 3 prong , my stock bulb is 2 prong [pic 3] .. Am I missing something or not seeing something here .

 

I don't know how you people installed these kits , I ordered that exact kit and it is for H-4 bulb , Tacomas need H11s in low beam . Look at pics above . Also got email from Steve at OPT7 and their research team made a mistake listing the H4s , Sending mine back , ordering H11s .

 

I ordered H11's and received H11's.
