LOL - Rainer is about 16" wider. Same length. it's 72" wide whereas the Shasta is 56". about a $300 price difference.

EDIT: I'm leaning towards rainer... if I'm spending the $$$ to upgrade, might as well get plenty more room out of it
will do. i'll let you know if anything changes.

16" is enough additional space for stella and myself.

But honestly, i'd go for the wider one, more room for back/pack, duffle bag, gear etc

    Thunderchicken with fiery mudbutt? Nice.

So hey, why are you ditching Tepui for CVT?

Size (bigger is always better, right?) and personal preference. There's some other differences I've noticed between the two. Bobby has top notch customer service and has always been fun to hang out with. So I'd rather give him the business.

No need to be coy. Without stating the actual subtle technical differences, this just sounds like Brokeback RTT. IYKWIM.

^^^ smart. People always forget the gear factor. Shoes, clothes, water bottles, etc.

    - it has a bigger footprint, compared to what I have now
    - the ladder is a different design
    - higher weight rating
    - higher ceiling when open
    - CVT is thicker in width when closed (gonna be interesting fitting in my work garage with it)
    - BOBBY

Thanks. So I've never had a chance to even inspect one of these things in person. Is the ladder indeed the sole structural member supporting the fold-out half of these tents?
