I got the Uniden 510. Alot of good reviews, most saying it was bare bones but very sturdy and worked well

 

Nice. Those seem to run about the same as what I spent on the Midland unit I've got in the plow truck, and that one works fine for what it is.

 

I was picking up people talking about their place in Westport Maine (not really sure where they were). I could here them for about a good 10 miles of me driving, until I went down into a big valley where I live.

Found a TON of rust inside my frame.... I'm looking at the Eastwood Internal Frame Coating. Apparently you don't need to grind it all down to bare metal, I literally have large flakes of rust sitting inside the squared off portion of the frame. I'll probably blast that out and coat it all. Toyota won't even look at my truck at this point apparently.

Remove the scales of rust with a air needle scaler. Then spray it with converter and finish with a paint/protector. I'll be doing this shortly
