    I have a 2014 Tacoma with a 6" Rough Country suspension lift and 3" body lift and was thinking about changing the shocks. Anyone have FOX shocks or recommend a certain brand? I also have a question about the sizing of the shocks. When I was looking on the FOX shocks website and it gives me a sizing chart for the different types of shocks they offer. I don't really know much about shocks like that so seeing sizes like 0"-3" or 0-"1.5" or 3.5"-5" doesn't really make sense to me. Any idea on the size I would need for the setup I currently have? Thanks! :)

    Generally the sizes for shocks like Fox coilovers tell you how much lift they provide (given as a range since they're adjustable).

    Someone else will have to chime in on how to get 6" out of a 5" coilover. Not sure if you can just throw a 1" block on top of the coilover or not...

    A lot of people here use FOX including myself, most people here are mean and wont answer some "already asked questions" haha.
    But the way I see it is;
    If you have aftermarket cross-member with your lift now you'll need the 6" coil-overs from FOX. If your kit came with an aftermarket spindle then you'd need the 3" coil-overs.

    For the sake of gaining knowledge...what was incorrect and what's the correction?

    Not trying to be an ass, but when Fox says 0"-2.5"...that means inches of lift. Right?

    And I actually don't know if it's smart/safe/possible to throw a puck on top of Fox coilovers, so I passed to someone who actually knows.

    I think he meant the 2.5" means the diameter of the shock.

    You're right, thanks for pointing that out.

    The single 2.0 or 2.5 is the diameter. I was answering the OP's size question, which she stated in ranges. And that's going to be the lift amount.

    Clarified.

    Since you have a drop bracket lift you will more than likely have to get a custom length cool over built. Since you don't wheel your truck there isn't much use in getting a 2.5" coil over with a remote resivor. Instead just get like a performance series 2" coil over for the front for some better ride qualities and rebuild capability.

    Don't know if this helps at all but I had the fox 2.0's on my fj and loved them, only 2" of lift so probably not what you're looking for. But if you're thinking fox in general, my experience is great and I'll probably put them on my new Tacoma.

    Yes reading on their site more, 2.0 and 2.5 is the diameter, and the ranges like I said is the inches of lift. Which doesn't really help me in my situation because I have 6" of lift and the most I've seen on their site is 3"-5". But I'm contacting them to see what they say about my situation. But thank you for your help!

    Doesn't the Rough Country 6" lift have the 6" spacer's that connects to the stock shock towers to extend the coilover down to keep the stock length up front? I thought I remembered someone using the drop bracket lift and then you could put adjustable coilovers on it to get more lift.

    The one's in the pic below on each side of the skid plate.

    Yup lists it on the website as a strut spacer.

    Hey OP! Post a pic of your front setup so we can see what you are actually running. Also, I have had 3 different sets of shocks (Bilstein, Icon, Fox) and my favorite for ride quality as a DD (Daily Driver) has been the fox shocks. I run them in the rear, but plan on running fox coilovers up front once I change my setup.
