anyone on that good with computers

Hey guys,
I can use somegood help with my laptop is there any one that can help it crash and it only comes back up with a black screen I called acer and they said if I gave them $180 they could walk me through it something about the setting but I don't know how to get pass the black screen can anyone help

 

do you see anything on the screen? A flashing cursor?

Try hooking a monitor to it also and see if you can see anything on the monitor.

Safe mode a great idea. pres F5 while booting and a menu should come up that allows you to select safe mode.

I would check to see if there is a computer shop near you that you could take it to. I wouldn't waste the money or time for Acer tech support to try to correct the issue.

It seems like you have an issue that is a little past your abilities so I would suggest seeking out someone knowledgeable that is near you. We could throw out things to try but without being there it is a little difficult. If one of us could remotely tie into your computer that would be one thing but by your description you don't have the ability to currently access anything.

geeksquad is outrageous pricing. try a reformat with windows

 

Do you have the windows disk? if so put it in and when it reboots press r until it gives you the option to reinstall or repair. then click on repair. I sent you a pm so give me some more info and i can get it going for ya

 

What if the video card is bad. reloading windows isn't going to fix that.

I agree Geeksquad is a ripoff.
