What do you expect from CAR & driver?
I'm surprised they didn't mention the inevitable low resale value of the GM twins.

Just confirmed, Vegas odds on wachuko buying a Ridgeline after actually "seeing it just for the hell of it" set at 3:1

I've said it before a few times on TW. All the Ridgeline intimidation is akin to being intimidated by your wife's gay guy friends she goes to Lady Gaga concerts with. It's another option to consider in the segment. It's not trying to be a Tacoma. I respect that it is secure in it's image of being an urban soccer-mom shuttle that dad can use to occasionally haul stuff with. I'd never buy one but I really can't hate on the Ridgeline.

I like the ridge line. It's not something I'd buy for myself because I place more value on being able to wheel and haul, but it will do all of what most people need. For your suburbanite who makes runs to home depot and ikea it will do just fine.

Curious why C&D chose the OR for comparison testing instead of the more road compliant Sport or Limited? I guess it makes it easier to complain about ride quality when you're using a suspension and tires more suited to off road when you want the winner to be an on road jewel.

With this previous comparison already published, I guess they have to slide the Honda in somewhere around the twins as the Taco has already been beaten in their eyes.

Can't have them going back on what they said a few months ago I guess. Who would trust them any more as a source of unbiased reviews?

People actually use car and driver as a reference? I just go test drive things I like the look of and picked from there (on the Tacoma... damn wait)

I drove a Colorado from the last gen and it was a complete pos compared to my current Tacoma.

Granted, the new ones are supposedly much better.

Who cares though. Best sales, best resale. Tacoma. When that changes we can start talking. Otherwise the people have spoken.

Just a concept though, based on a Ridgeline.

Jeez, after this guy and the other real owner Ridgeline review video posted in another thread - Honda has to get some John Wayne types doing the review. While the review was good, the estogenized reviewers are not doing the Ridgeline's soft reputation any good.

British accent? Well la de da your Majesty.

A year ago I test drove a base one as well... felt cheap... power was good, but hated the interior feel. I know that Canyon is the same truck... but I took a Canyon SLT 4x4 this past weekend and I really liked it. Very nice interiors, everything about felt great. Being the diesel it had a great feel from a stand still since you can feel the torque right away... not so much once it was going over 60mph and I would floor it... I mean, it was decent, but not as fast at pick up as a gas engine one (normal since the hp is only 180hp)... but great leather interior, comfortable, drove great... almost drove off with it that day but the trade-in they were giving me for my wife's FIAT 500c was a joke (and I know that was not their fault, the FIATs just depreciate like crazy...).

All in all, it was good that I did not get to buy it Sunday...I am still waiting to see a Tacoma TRD Pro and keep reading posts here in the forum to see how Toyota is doing in fixing the problems found by current owners... and also looking to see what the 2017 GMC Canyon brings... and as much as I like to have a Jeep Wrangler JKU, it just does not work for everything that I want to do with it... towing capacity kills it for me... and I try to convince my son (to get it for him) and he referred to it as a cardbox with wheels (he wants a Mustang, lol) ...

Maybe they viewed the 3rd Gen section here and used that as part of the rating?
