I would do the trd intake if it was direct install on my 2012. since it is not I will stay with the oem intake.

In your case I would do the trd, if not leave it alone.

snorkels are always a cute option as well!

I've got afe power oiled cold air. Sounds way better. More power? I donno maybe. I like it though. Just be sure to put thread locker on the screws that hold in your mass airflow sensor to avoid the "zip tie and duct tape maf " mod

My opinion would be to save up for a snorkel. CAI will do nothing without an exhaust and tune. Sometimes(depending on model) it'll just stuck in hot engine bay air. If it's just an open filter in the engine bay, you'll be losing hp. The stock system pulls air from outside the engine bay. An open filter also makes it more likely that you'll stuck in water if you splash enough water up. And we all know how that ends.

If you want some sound out of your truck, try the TRD exhaust. It's got a good rumble without being obnoxious.

I just installed the K&N about 2 weeks ago. the sound is not too loud on normal driving unless you are going above 3k on the RPM's. I personally felt the truck with better take off but it could just be my brain. truck also has the cat back trd exhaust so that may help. I do love the noise when I hit it hard sounds almost as loud as the exhaust.

for the money? OEM with trd filter. if you want to spend 450 for a gain of 5 hp, best one is afe or trd. waste of money imo. supercharger will be best bang for your buck (besides urd headers)

OEM is very restrictive, every stock intake is, known fact. CAI, full exhaust with headers and a tune.

oem is not that restrictive. whats restrictive is OEM filter. cai, full exaust, headers and a tune. ok so dyno tuning, 300 bucks for a few hours. cold air, 400. headers 500, exhaust if cheaper, 300. this is you doing all the work yourself. I see 1500 bucks without labor or a measly 25hp/30torque max gain.

supercharger will give you best $/per horse, same as a turbo in other applications period. I just dont see a point spending 400 bucks on an air intake.

    Stock

Stock is a "cold air intake." I had a TRD intake installed for about two years. It sounded nice at WOT, but that was all it did.

I recently switched back to stock because I was sick of cleaning and oiling the filter. Since the switch, I've seen a 12 fill-up average increase of over 2mpg. Also, this is completely unsubstantiated, but I feel like the truck has better low end power with the stock unit.
