Yeah that could tear something up. Have had a few people around here hit horses and cows that have gotten out.

Just have to be smart with it. I have a plate bumper with hoops so there is a bit more protection up front. I haven't had an issue without the sway bar. YMMV

But I know for a fact that I would not take it off with stock suspension. Your best bet is to try it yourself and see if you are comfortable with it. I have a stiff suspension with heavier springs and a 7 leaf pack in the rear. The sway bar was transferring the jar from one side of the truck to the other if you hit a bump. Without the sway bar it doesn't do that.

You still get body roll when towing and I'm wondering how the suspension will handle a trailer pushing you in a turn when the swaybar is removed. Really looking for those who have actual experience with towing a reasonable sized trailer with their swaybar-less 2nd gen.

It'll come off when the suspension goes on (fox 2.5/LR UCA and fox 2.0/Dakar) and I'll hook up the trailer and see how it feels. Was hoping to get more feedback similar to 58 Siesta (ie, people who have towed with the sway bar removed).

If tgear is right I'll die and if zipp is right I'll be a nervous wreck from worrying about it which will probably lead to me crashing and dying too.

I tow a 3500lb trailer, but I have 700lbx14" coils up front with no swaybar and no issue. Ask @tgear.shead...he knows everything.

    LOL

Thanks for the feedback on towing your trailer...that is exactly what I was hoping to get when starting this thread (real life experienced not someone's hypothesis about what would happen).

The speed limit here is 75 mph on winding mountain highways. I am a licensed commercial driver with years of experience (not that it really means that much). Personally, if I felt like body roll had been increased at all I would have put the sway bar right back on - I don't rock crawl. I think the suspension feels more compliant on and off road in all weather conditions without the sway bar. I do not notice any more body roll when towing than when not towing.

All of this is subject to personal opinion, as every driver will perceive vehicle behavior in their own way.

I tow 4000+ pounds with my truck fairly regularly and I have no front sway bar. The truck drives just fine compared to when I still had the sway bar in. When not towing, the truck has a bit more lean in corners without it, but not enough to make me worry, even if I have to make an abrupt maneuver (which I have had to do). When towing, the change in driving style due to having 4000+ pounds behind me makes the lack of sway bar pretty much unnoticeable.

I have Icon coilovers with 700lb springs up front.

Its no hypothesis. It is what WILL happen if you have to avoid anything on the road. Driving in a straight line is easy, you can do that any day with the most unimaginably compromised heap of junk. But if you can't avoid a crash in an emergency, then you may die.

My best friend went through that shit. It was a rough time, but we went fishing a lot. He used to call me and say "The make a wish foundation is running a fishing trip on the main stem of the Flathead River, you working tomorrow?" I've never taken so much time off of work :D

I shot an elk with my bow the day he was having the tumor removed. When he was able to have visitors, I went in with a big smile on my face and he knew immediately why.

Doesn't give you the right to put other people's lives in jeopardy.

And besides, that is a very cheap line you're pulling. Cancer won't gain any sympathy from me. You're an adult, and you can deal with the cards you've been dealt. My *son* had cancer. I don't ask for sympathy, I just deny YOU any.
