    Hi Gang,

This Voodoo basket size would meet my needs for a variety of reasons but its designed for a Gen 2.

Question: has anyone with a Gen 1 tried to make this work for our trucks? Might be a simple mod, might not but wanted to check with the TW Gen 1 world before I tried.

Did you try calling them? I cant believe some other 1st Gen owner hasnt called them up in the past.

OTOH if it was a simple fit, then they would logically advertise it for 1st Gens also, to increase sales.

Too many projects, not enough time. My intention was to determine if these fit Gen 1 but working on other aspects of my build currently.

What are the actual dimensions between the accessory bed rails in the 05+? I installed aluminum half-strut in my 1st gen bed and it's sitting at 55.5".

The inside dimension of the accessory rails on the 2nd gen is 55.5".

Shit, this might actually fit in a 1st gen.

    Well this could change EVERYTHING!

I'm anxiously awaiting some official confirmation, but this looks promising.

Chad, do you have access to a Gen 1 in your area that could be a test bed here? Would just need to see if we have fit here. Gen 1 owners would simply drill into the bedside much like a Relentless Bar or other accessory.

Take the T-slot nuts off and you may be able to bolt it directly to the bed sides. I think the other guy may be talking about below the top rail of the 1st gen. I believe it will have to be cut and the end rewelded on to mount.

You would need to install a spacer or half-strut.

I've had half-strut installed for a few years now. Below is my setup. It's 55.5" between these rails...sorry for the confusion.

    Unfortunately I don't.

Can someone measure the inside width of their bed? The mounting points of the basket are 55.5" apart. If the bed matches, it would simply be a matter of drilling four holes.

So it may even be possible to install 2nd gen accessory rails and mount the basket as originally intended.....

From what I heard they have a slightly different height and width. I cannot confirm, though. I've heard the Toyota rail is a little narrower but taller. I mount all my stuff with strut nuts so yours would bolt right in anyway.

The best part is....if this works according to the measurements....

Then we can ALSO run the bed cross bars?!?!
