Pretty painful day in the gym yesterday. My elbow and shoulder were still sore and starting off with chest felt great at first because I guess everything was getting stretched out, but by the end, my whole arm was shaking it hurt so bad...I could barely hold onto my water bottle. I went suuuuuuper light just to be able to finish my chest workout and then went to biceps, which wasn't too bad. My wife tried to get me to stop, but I (stupidly....maybe) fought through it and finished the workout. About an hour after leaving the gym, the pain magically went away. Today, it's like it never happened :notsure:

TL;DR: if you're ever injured, chestntris is ALWAYS the answer.

Why does everyone in the fitness industry think brown rice is an absolute necessity for your diet? I've never understood that...it's not rich in any significant amounts of vitamins or minerals, it's got hardly any fiber, and it's low in protein...the only thing it has going for it is that it's low on the glycemic index, which if you're not diabetic, is pretty useless anyway. #fuckbrownricecrew #whitericematters

Yes! I like that liquid aminos stuff. It's expensive (~$8/bottle), but it's only got 320 mg sodium, compared to soy sauce's 900 mg.

Aw man! That was on my list, too. Bummer :pout:

Everything is still in place. But still no lifting for 6 more weeks. Probably the most depressed I've been through this whole thing after he said that.

Anyone ever try making their own pre-workout supplement?

I just ordered the stuff to give it a shot and see if I like it. Will be saving money in the long run, but curious to see if anyone else has had success with this.

I think some people were drinking instant coffee mixed with something at some point as a "homemade" pre workout. Some kind of mud name? Sounded terrible to me...

Hyphy mud? I've heard of it too. Sounds nasty. Instant coffee and coca-cola or Pepsi or something like that.

I ordered caffeine pills, beta alanine, and citrulline malate. I've got some creatine monohydrate I am going to add as well. got everything but the creatine on Amazon. I suppose it should work. Same stuff that's in most pre workouts just without all the fillers and whatever else they add.

I wasn't sure yet. I'm going to try it without anything because I usually just slam it. I've read it's pretty bitter tasting stuff though.

I was thinking about possibly using those crystal light packets or any zero cal. sweetener. Maybe stevia or something? Hopefully, I just don't mind the taste.

I'd suggest the crystal light packets to start. Let me know how it goes. I can't take it but my roommate would be interested in saving some money.

Any of you guys eat just over your maintenance calories and slowly gain weight? Because I feel like I'm still too small to justify a cut of any kind.

Pretty sure @zacharypaul89 mentions at least once a week how he eats just over and just under maintenance because he doesn't want to lose too much muscle and his wife doesn't like him fat.

I wasn't being rude. All I'm saying is think about it: if you eat slightly more than what you know you can, you are asking if you are going to gain weight?

It's simply calories in vs. calories out. If you consume more calories than you burn, you will gain weight and vice versa. The bigger the differential, the faster you'll gain or lose weight. If you gain too fast, it'll likely be mostly fat/ water weight and if you lose too fat, you risk losing muscle.
