So Dirt King vs. Total Chaos stock length lower arms. Both have a uniball end but one has poly bushings the other has deralin bushings. I am looking for thoughts, opinions, fact or experience on either arm and how that difference in bushing may affect my overall front suspension performance. Note that I have no need for LT with what I do so I am looking at stock length options. the balance of my front end is:

    • ICON 2.5's extend Travel coilovers with resi(no CDC) and Eibach 700lb springs.
    • Rokmen Pro-Series UCA's
    • So to be brand new spindles with TC gussets
    • Longer stainless steel brake lines - for no reason at all other then they were free.
Also I know that the non race TC lowers have a drop in Uniball that is easier to replace then the race series which is what I would want but I have not researched the DK version yet. Anyone know off hand if the DK is press in or drop in? If not, no worries I do know how to search.

Didn't know this thread existed. My name is Nick and I am glad there is a safe place for me to learn about MT & LT.

In my experience Delrin bushings are a bit firmer but last longer and make zero noise. My previous DK kit was awesome and I really liked the Delrin bushings, my current Solo kit has poly bushings and I am running the F back to Delrin ASAP. Delrin bushings alone cost $200 so the DK's are a good value.

I think you might be mixing up " race style " and " non race " style LCA's because TC makes both. There is no " drop in " uniball, the non race style TC lower uses an external uniball adapter which sure may save you 5 minutes replacing replacing a uniball but the downside is that the adapter lessens ground clearance under the LCA by a couple of inches. I personally would never suggest the non race LCA's and I would suggest DK over TC because the DK's do not have all of the little clearance / fit issues that a lot of folks run into with the TC's.

    Stuff and junk and things...

For those that want to replace uniballs with out taking the arms off the truck.

    https://www.allgermanmotorsports.com/tools/uni-ball-tool/uni-ball-tools

Or get a ball joint or front end service kit to press the uniball in and out.

Thanks! And yeah I was mis-speaking in reference to the drop in uniball. I was just on TC's site and see that it is adapter with a uniball in it. I am assuming that uniball press tool is needed to make changing out a uniball quick? I suppose that wouldn't be bad and adding another tool to the garage is never a bad thing. :D

There are some differences, the big ones being a jump to a 1.25" Uniball and 7/8" Inner heims.

    2017 Tundra - 2008 Tacoma
    How Similar
    - CNC machined
    - Aluminum
    - Uses uniballs
    - Uses heim joints
    - Bolt on uniball caps
    - Fits 05-16 Tacoma's

    How Different
    - Larger & stronger FK uniballs (more expensive)
    - Larger & stronger FK heim joints (more expensive)
    - Completely different geometry
    - Offers a standard and high caster setup using supplied heim spacers that don't affect camber (3-5.5 degrees)
    - Uses higher quality and stronger hardware

We were the first company to bring billet upper arms to market 10+ years ago. It made sense to bring them back to our product line now since we do a lot of CNC machining in-house.

When you guys see these things in person you'll be really impressed. We spent a lot of time designing and refining these to get them to this point.

Icon makes nice parts as well.

Scott! You need to send me a set to "field test" a set on a 5th gen 4Runner trail. Just to make sure they work with the KDSS.

FYI my OG 'Burg arms on my 1st gen taco have been flawless, I have only replaced the uniballs once.

I have DK, so there's my vote:).

    Reasons I went that way:
    I don't need a second shock
I do need a limit strap mount.
I like the stainless steel stop for the steering stop to contact
    I like the uni-ball geometry
    I like the drelin bushings
Matching DK uppers with heim joints

Good sale price through a GB.
