I may be interested in goin if I can talk the mrs. into either making other plans or coming with, but I dunno how the 2 year old will handle it so may need to find a sitter for the latter scenario

Gotcha, I do have a ratchet strap (not sure how much weight) that I have used to ratchet my truck out before. Less than a week of owning it, took me and my friend about 4 hrs. Ratchet it a ways, then stop redo the strap and ratchet more. Ever since the first week I have wanted a 4x4...let the hate begin...haha

I was pulled out by a couple 4 wheelers one time and I was afraid their metal cable on the winches was going to mess up my bumper, I would like a nice snatch strap. Pretty crazy story behind this one actually, I could tell it at a meet sometime:rofl:

I've also been pulled out by 4 wheelers before. Got myself off buried in a creek (in my '89 toyota pickup) and my buddy in his nearly identical '93 came to pull me out but the ground gave way beneath his rear tire and slide him into a hole kinda under a tree and it's roots. We began cutting the tree down (it was kinda small). Even after the tree was down he couldn't get out of the hole and by this time it was dark outside and we had no solution. Luckily some guys came out hunting on their 4wheelers (4 of them) and came across us. Took all 4 of them to pull him and me out. Long night haha.

haha mine was similar, me and my wife were just out looking for some new trails, not trying to do anything to get stuck. We found a trail and decided to head down it, there was a steep hill at the very beginning, I did not think to look on the other side because it was just off the road...By the time I got up and over the hill and was able to see over the hood again it was to late, I was already headed straight for a rutted out mud hole. I started sliding down the other side of the hill and right into it. I knew before I even got out of the truck there was no getting out of this alone. Trying calling a buddy but he was busy that night. Finally because it was getting dark and we were right off the road I called a tow truck. As I was confirming with the guy, "yes, send the truck" went to hang up and all of a sudden 2 JACKED 4 wheelers came tearing up. I quickly raised the phone back up and said "hold the truck!" These 4 wheelers were ridiculous, snorkels, light bars, winches, huge mud tires. One actually ran over a small tree and laid it down with no problem while he was going around to get in front of my truck. About 5mins later I was out and turned around, I was able to get back over the hill where he had just cleared the new path. They saved me paying the $100 tow fee, I think I thanked them about 10 times.

This was before I was lifted, only damage was the trailer light plug was bent and now facing straight up. Need to go ahead and relocated it.

How about we start a serious thread about a possible Moab trip next year? Gotta start planning now.

Yeah I've been wanting to go for years. Next year will be my only opportunity until I finish school so I am going. The truck won't be as ready as I would like but I'll just have to take the trails I can and not push it.

On board air, and some skids and I think I will survive. And for the first time out there idk if I want to jump into rock therapy. I'd kinda like to explore on my own first.
