If yours are still clear (not fogged) then $15 BHLM!
Or search black Tacoma headlights on Amazon and seal them up with silicon when you get them.

Pay for what you get. My only issue with retro is the solenoid issues I've heard of with the same bulb used for low and high beam

On the older stuff yes. The newer generation projectors don't have this issue at all. Different solenoid design

I think I spent about $450 not including the headlight housing to build them myself but it's not uncommon to see already built ones around $1,000. I'm building another set for myself with some updated stuff and these will be up for sale soon

Any chance you could share with me where and what exactly that you purchased to do the retrofit yourself?

I’m also interested in headlights, and have an idea but need some advice. I saw someone else who painted the headlight casings on oem style projectors (pictured below) which I like. Only problem is I don’t want to waste 150+ on headlights and mess up re-sealing them. Any recommendations on safer ways to go about it?

Why would you put projectors on an off road truck with a crisp cutoff that will bounce around and leave things above it black

when you can flood the road with a higher power incandescent bulb thrown out with large sized reflector bowls that performance cars are simply too small to fit
some people go farther and get a stronger harness to support a higher wattage bulb
but some stock wattage bulbs still offer more lumens

I like the cutoff line. Lightbar for real ligts at nice (alone in the boonies). If I did anything these days, I would justy go laser.

And I have no idea why they are saying it'd not a dual beam. I guess "technically" it is, but there's a solenoid operated flapper to accomplish this.

Here's a little info on them, and some about retrofits.

So many choices, and to each his/her own, but for me, color matching the OEM headlights is the only way to go.
