If you read a little further, I explained it looked as if the shackle was laying against the frame rail, at least on my phone. I have further looked into the kit and realized this is not the case, as explained by several others.

It basically comes down to axle wrap and flex, along with desired use. A SUA application is more desired for long travel setups where lift is not a factor and just the necessity for suspension working. Compared to a spring over axle where the extra 2.5-3" (thickness of the axle tube) of lift putting the leaf springs higher resulting in more lift. That's my 2¢.

Hey guys, I just ordered this kit for my 13' with Dakars. The OP recommends 25-27" shocks. Can anyone recommend a specific shock to make my search a little easier?

    Thank you.

I've been running them since December 2015 and they are awesome.

X2. Limit straps are not a bad idea.

Thanks guys. I'll check those out. Why limiting straps? Brake lines?

I'll extend the brake lines. Still any need for straps?

Limit straps aren't needed for rear suspension, since leaf springs are the only limiting factor, at least on my truck. :p

Definitely want longer brake lines. I don't have shackle flip, but am running 3" longer than stock brake lines with Dakar, which work great for me.

Awesome, thank you. I JUST put 22" SS lines on my truck just because I got them NIB for $10.

OP recommended 24" or longer. Looks like I'll be changing them again...

I don't remember what stick length is?

I carefully measured mine, and posted pics and measurements in this thread

Maybe. My understanding is that it depends on the distance between the shock mounts when you install the flip and disconnect the rear axle from the shocks. If the distance is greater than the length of your shock fully extended, you should consider straps to save your shocks.

With the dakars on my truck before the shackle flip, I had just a little under 28" eye to eye, and that's roughly the fully extended length of a B110. So add the shackle flip and my limiting factor is the shocks. I would prefer that not be the case.

In retrospect, I would have listened to the advice I was given and installed the flip kit with my Dakars, taken measurements eye to eye, then bought a shock that was longer than my measurement.

Just my 2 cents. Someone who knows more can feel free to chime in.

Ah. That's a good point. I'm MORE worried about the shocks bottoming out. I'm already planning to mess with my bump stops.

Man... Getting a headache reading throug a bunch of threads. Looking into doing a shock relocate at the same time. Anyone have a setup with Dakars and this flip that's working for them?

    My mind is melded!

@ARCHIVE How far away from having your relocate kit on the market are you?

Not sure what he's running, but I have RCI and love it. I put all of my armor through its paces a couple weekends ago. The diff diaper took it the hardest for sure. Other than scrapes, it came out unscathed.

Well get on that then! From what I've heard and read, you should get good results with your setup. I'll eventually relo my towers and go to a longer shock, so helping you will be educational for me. I'm done messing with my rear suspension for now.

It's made by a company called Boztec. Well built piece, but it was an SOB to get on. Either the collar was welded crooked, or the drain hole was cut in the wrong spot, and it required over an hour and a half test fitting and going to town with an angle grinder on both.
