    Opinions and knowledge needed.

I was thinking about running my spare with a 285/75/16.

Any cons against it? Muffler will have about a half inch from the heat shield that is attached to it.

285/75/16. This is why I would like this size for the spare.

Just concerned with fit and possible closeness to muffler.

Are you folks dim? The spare is the same size as his tires. And even if it wasnt its good enough to get him home/shop. Just answer the mans question.

    Not shit.

Spar size will be the same as all other 4 currently running. 285/75/16

Just wanted to know if it's close to the muffle will it be a issue with heat or melting. Shit like that.

Glad I'm not the only one.

That having been said, Take one of your current tires and mount it up. If it fits, you're good. If it's against the muffler, which it won't be, don't leave it there.

That is the size spare I have under my truck right now. It seems to be just fine.

so a 33 will fit under the bed in the spare tire holder?

    285/75/16 is a 33 (well 32.8 or something close to that. )

    OP has a 2016; i'm a 2011... idk if that makes a difference.

Hey OP did you get down and look at your spare tire yet, to see if your 16" tire is close to the muffler..?? Just wondering if I should also be worried about this issue... I'm sure I'll have a major issue if you have one cuz mine is bigger than yours....I got a 17"er...

Thanks for posting, I am sold on it then. Just was worried about how close it would come to the heat shield and it looks like now issues at all.

    Another spare tire question:

I'm about to instal new wheels and tires, and don't want to drop the $ for a matching spare. What do you guys think about having a cheap spare tire at 285/75/16 on the black steelie while the other tires are at 285/70/17 on 17" wheels?

That's basically what I am doing. I figure as long as the spare is the same height as the regulars, we are all good.

Unless you have need it up front, it may rub on your control arm.
