You don't see it in California. I've seen it in Kentucky and one in Tennessee. I'm guessing it isn't impossible to see in Canada either.

    None...yet!
Costco is all top tier gas and at decent prices usually. Says it may contain ethanol though.

One of us misunderstood the other at one point.

Yes the sticker is on every pump in California. I lived in California my whole life until a couple years ago, and still visit frequently. Ethanol is there and it's not about to leave anytime soon. I've never seen E0 there. Ever.

All I was saying was in a few gas stations I've seen in the south east, the premium or high grade gas has no ethanol. Not so with mid grade or low grade, as they have the sticker saying up to 10% E.

correct, the tacoma will be fine with some ethanol as like people have said, 99% of gas stations have some ethanol in it in the US. I think there is only 2 stations in San Diego that has pure gas.

Sometimes I think that gas haulers have a barrel handy at certain locations fill it up. Replace the same amount with water and deliver. 90 gallons out of 10,000 is like 1%. Which can be claimed as the ethanol foundation and condensations through transportation.

E85 and big turbo boost on a high compression engine. Or F1 type cars. I agree, as it runs cooler.

www.pure-gas.org is extremely accurate around here. All our Wawa stations have E0 pumps now. And a few independents that specialize in some race gas, and almost every marina, as well as some fuel oil suppliers.

I do use E0 in my small lawn tool engines, particularly since they sit a lot. Commercial guys that use that stuff every day don't worry about it anymore. Fresh and moving is what matters.

I never worry about it in my vehicles. I've driven several mid '90's and up models (both Japanese and American) 100, 200 and 300k on E10, non-top tier (cheapest I can find) and nary a fuel system issue.

I moved from Sam's to Costco in the last year, so I am using Costco gas now. But it's close to home and usually the cheapest around. Not because it's top tier.

Non ethanol around here is 40-50 cents more per gal than regular e10. I definately notice the power difference and Mpg's are noticeably better, but when factor in another $10 for the cost of a fill up the advantage is lost and becomes cost prohibitive. Wish the govt would get the corn out of our gas. that law was meant to appease the Midwest corn growers, not the avg driver. From an environmental standpoint, growing corn uses more water than any other crop, a lot more! There is a huge glut of oil on the market now so why not take advantage and lift the ethanol mandate? Water is becoming the new oil, don't waste it! Ask any Californian.

A station with top tier non ethanol gas would be ideal, but no such luck around here. Would using non ethanol gas with a bottle of fuel injector cleaner once in a while keep the engine clean like using top tier gas? Or would it be a good idea to alternate tanks of E0 and top tier E10 for optimum performance? Lots of good ideas and comments above, thanks for the insight guys!

Colorado used to switch back and forth between 10% ethanol for winter, pure gas for summer. But several years ago either the EPA changed the requirement or Front Range gas stations just got lazy so it's 10% year-round.
However, if you happen to live near a marina this is the best way to get pure gasoline.

you start putting e0 87 in there, mpg will go up as long as it is not doing knock control (like, your driving habits
    don't make it adjust timing)

you put 91 e0 in there mpg will go up and likely no knock control, so might be best mileage at 91 e0

happened to me....makes no sense mpg goes up with higher octane except that the engine control
is not fighting pings/knock...so I did in fact get awesome mpg on 91 e0 while I was able to fill the tank with it

You'd have to ban it's use completely.
Refineries would still mix with ethanol as it is the most cost effective way to raise octane.

The kwik trip by me had 93octane (10% ethanol) last summer and now this summer they have 91octane (ethanol free).

What would you guys choose if those were your two options?

The lowest octane rated recommended in your manual at the lowest cost.

If the E0 is the cheapest (doubtful) use that. Otherwise, don't fret.

It is in Canada, or the sticker has to state as such (IE this pump contains etc, etc).

Lower energy, and because it is a shorter chain molecule it has some efficiency advantages. However Ethanol has a crazy high Octane advantages because of those characteristics which allows you to advance the timing significantly. That's why it's used in racing.
