Either use a data stick or a wired connection direct to your music source. Also, make sure the music has been saved in the lowest level of compression your volume of memory storage that still holds all of the music you want to have with you at any time. For iTunes, Apple Lossless works well, but expect massive file sizes (as with any lower compression format).

The difference in sound quality is significant...

The 17 Build site should be up fairly soon. 17 info is on the website.

True there is a huge difference in how my system currently sounds when playing the radio vs a CD or Apple lossless file. I have an aftermarket system in my Ranger (Sony speakers, Pioneer amp and head unit). I should have paid more attention to the stereo when I was test driving it. I was just super focused on everything else.

Yeah Im hoping next few days it will be up. In your experience do you think Toyota will have made changes to the options/packages you can get with the 2017?

All the info is already out. There are not changes in options/packages.

IMO, go with the sport and add the aftermarket leather.

In your opinion with a good source like an APPLE Lossless file is the JBL system loud and clear? Do you think its comparable to an aftermarket system in the 2k range?

Am in my 20's. Can confirm that the skewp is awesome!

Actually it gets in the way of seeing the trail off-road, so I'd also happily trade it for a leather interior.

As for sweat, I always have a few old towels in the truck - just throw one over your seat (when needed) and let it soak up your nastiness.

Sport looks more aggressive and better with the color matched mirrors and fenders and bumper and all that. Get the Sport. I love mine.

No I did not. No moonroof or blind spot monitoring or any of that. Keep in mind I haggled and got my truck to a 33k price OTD.

That is an option I have mulled over myself. Just forgetting about the sunroof (which is really all I want out the Prem Tech pack) and add aftermarket leather. Big difference in price. 33k OTD is hell of a deal if it is 4x4 and you live in a state with sig taxes.

Ohio and it's 4x4. Manual Transmission. You can always add a moonroof later too.. At least my dealer said they could.

I have the JBL. IMO, the sound quality is heavily source dependent. HD radio/XM sounds the worse. (like, real bad)

high bitrate mp3 via USB is the best, second only to CD.

However because it's a truck and i'm not keen on carrying a CD collection, 99% of the time, I just BT stream my high bitrate music to the deck. It's acceptable for me. Pandora streaming is very good too.

If you're on the fence, go back to the dealer with your reference CD, and take a listen. If you're already getting P/T, there's no reason not to spend the $600 for the JBL. The DSP alone is worth it.

Another factor to consider is the way they drive. I was also undecided until I drove a limited and a sport back to back over the same test route.

I drove the Limited first and found two things: (1) The suspension felt too soft to me especially in corners. (2) Within 10 or 12 minutes my back was wet from sweat. I don't know what kind of "leather" that is suppose to be but I have owned numerous cars with leather and did not have this problem.

Next came the Sport: (1) I immediately noticed the hood scoop which I liked from the outside but seemed to be blocking some of my view from the driver's seat. It also seemed to make the truck feel bigger. (2) As soon as we drove out of the dealers lot I noticed a distinct difference. I felt much more connected to the road. When we entered the first curve I was sold. No floating feeling and less perceived sway. My back was also dry after the drive.

I had every intention of ordering a limited until that drive because I wanted a loaded vehicle and the limited seemed like the best deal but I will now be ordering a sport. If the hood does becomes an issue I should have no trouble swapping it.

Anyone who is trying to decide might want to drive each one back to back before ordering. The salesman said that many people preferred the ride of the Limited but there is definitely a difference.

Yeah the part where I get torn between the two is if you add the premium/tech package with JBL you are within 1k of the price of the Limited. With the Limited you get the 18 inch wheels, rear dimming rearview mirror and of course the leather. When I drove the Limited i didn't have any issues with the leather but curious if anyone else here has with the Limited.

I agree the Hood scoop looks great on the exterior but when i test drove the Sport it did also seem to get in the way. i figured though this was something I would adjust to over time. The ride on the Limited definitely felt softer to me.
