AZ folks take a peek at the Toyota Clubhouse over at Globe Life Park for the Texas Rangers. Had the opportunity to watch a game here. Wouldn't mind setting up my game room like this.

Too many pic's of Turd Gen's for me. Though putting up a bunch of pic's of TW member builds would be pretty awesome.

Hey everyone - who is the local electrical guru? I am preparing to build an adapter for my CB microphone and I have some basic questions... I have a Uniden wireless CB mic that only works with Bearcat radios, but my radio is a Midland. I have read some articles about folks that have successfully converted these mics to work with other radios, but some of the diagrams I found seem to contradict one another. I've scoured the internets but there doesn't seem to be much info on this mic, so I'd like to present my ambitions to someone in the know. This mic requires voltage from the radio which is where I start to get nervous. I really like my CB radio, so before I do something wrong and let the "magic smoke" out of it, I'd like to confirm my plans are solid. Anyone here familiar with that sort of thing?
(I could always just start a general thread to ask, but it's always nice to know if someone close could help for, say, a case of good beer?)

I have a diagram of a conversion that someone did but it looks like they use an external relay to key the radio instead of the TX signal from the mic itself. I don't think this is necessary since there is a video on yt showing how someone made this mic work with a galaxy radio by just basically changing the plug and tapping into voltage from the radio itself. But that video was vague when talking about which wire goes to which pin. I also found a very rudimentary diagram that shows which wire is which, but it seems to contradict the diagram I mentioned above.
The wireless mic solves two issues for me: I don't have to run an extension wire to the cab for the mic (I am installing in the center console) and I also won't have to mount an external speaker since the mic has an internal speaker for RX audio. It's supposedly got a ~100m range so you can use your CB without being tethered to the radio (I envision being able to use the CB while in the garage, next to the camp fire, etc.). Not totally necessary, just sorta cool.
I like the Uniden Bearcat series of radios, but I guess I just don't want to have to buy another radio if I already have one. I also would like to get an amateur radio license one of these days, so I'd rather spend any additional money on HAM equipment than another CB, that's all.
