I has one more question for you HC bumper owners. Maybe a dumb question, but I gotta ask because it's unclear from pics.

Does the hoop on the sides block or interfere with your ability to remove / reinstall taillight?

I'm sure everyone here probably knows this, but just in case, tialight procedure removal is remove (2) 10mm bolts, than grab and pull taillight fixture straight back.

yea, its been awhile since ive had a tire under there so I didnt think it stuck down low enough to matter, but then again i dont think ive seen a HC bumper with a tire underneath so that may be why haha.

with the long bed I always dragged ass on the hitch so I know itll make a difference for me on the approach angles.

As for taking it off, Im not sure how Billy does his swing out yet so idk about riding with it off. My fabfours bumper also had the swing out and when I took the carrier off, the hinge and everything came off so there was no issues worrying out the spindle or anything still being on there.

As for maintenance, the ONLY thing I could really see is if there is a zerk fitting to keep the arm greased for smoothness and longevity?? Thats what was on my last one (fabfours)

Sometimes it seems like you and I are at different points on slightly different paths to building identical trucks.

Thought I'd throw this out there. Billy has made only a handful of first Gen bumpers. When I ordered mine he said its been a while since he had made one. Check this picture out

    image.jpg

See how the bumper lines up literally perfectly and I mean perfectly with he body right under the headlight. Never noticed it until I took this today. Holy shit Billy hats off to you sir! :hattip:

Billy is awesome to deal with and I couldn't be happier with my rear HC bumper w/dual swingouts! I would highly recommend Bruteforce to anyone.

I has yet another question for you HC bumper owners.

How did you go about the template for the cuts? I'm well versed with angle grinder at this point... I saw a pic in another thread and it looked a little strange the cuts under the taillight.

    Thanks.

Does anyone in here have any pics of how they mounted a light bar inside their bumper? Mine will be here in hopefully a month, so I'm wanting to get a bar ready, but not sure what kind of mounts to get.

I had mine installed by Billy, that being said he measured off the bed, drew line and then cut with angle grinder.
Not sure exactly what you mean by looks strange by tail lights. Explain?

I'm not going to worry about it. Like so many things I see, I don't always understand until I get my hands in it and eyes on it. But I was referring to the cuts under the taillight.

Mike Boden did a good job of writing up an install for the HC bumper. I think that may come in handy.
