2017 TRD PRO, who's waiting?

Kinda disappointed that the whole rear window doesn't go down like the tundra.

 

They are rolling onto lots in Houston now too...

 

So I can see how the TRD Pro is 1" higher in the front because they added new coilovers. How do you guys think they got the 1" lift in the rear? They claim to be using the leaf springs from the TRD OR series so in reality, you would think the rear would be the same height as the TRD ORs.

 

They haven't made it up from Houston to Dallas yet. Believe me I'm waiting with bated breath for a white one. My dealer wants my FJ so he would call me up if even one was headed in this general direction.

 

The whole rear window goes down? On all models? Never knew that.....and thats awesome.

 

Only Tundra crew max the entire rear glass rolls down. The Tundra Doublecab rear glass opens side to side.

 

Every time I build a manual Tacoma Off Road with tech package it comes to 37k and thats without leather and all the bells and whistles of the PRO. Seems the TRD Pro is a good value for money in that regard. So for 5k more you get the Pro...whats not to like?

 

Post pics please, I am debating white or cement if I go Pro.

 

Probably more like an 8k difference. You could probably get the TRD OR for 3k off MSRP while you're paying MSRP (or more) for the TRD Pro.

 

You have to compare msrp to msrp. You can get a pro at a discount too if you know the right salesman.

 

They can keep their overpriced Pro. I bought a TRDOR that was overpriced as well.

 

Was quoted 11k OTD to trade my loaded 16 TRDORDC. FYI to those interested.

 

That sounds about right for my '16 Sport too.
Or 5k diff on a loaded '17 Off-road.

 

Stupid question but if I'm still making payments on my 16' ORDC, but the trade in value is more than what I'm actually paying for my truck, would I then only be paying for the difference from the trade-in and the TRD PRO? Or will I still have to pay of my current loan despite the trade-in being worth more than my loan? Thanks!!!!!

 

They would roll your current one into the new one plus any extra from the swap. So if you had $30k and they were saying $11k differene then you would pay $41k now. But if your right side up then the difference in what you have a loan on and what is extra would just be subtracted from the loan if that makes sense. So if you paid $30k and it's worth $35k with an $11k difference you would pay $30k+$6k. This is also my basic understanding and it's 4am here so hopefully someone can verify lol.

Don't do it. If you owe money on your 16, I wouldn't even think about a 17... that's just me. Shrug

 

Yes. Agree. For far less than the money you would lose on the trade you could upgrade your 16 with better shocks, and quality lift-kit, prettier wheels, a custom grill etc. Make your own TRD Pro.

The problem with making your own TRD or anything with mods, you will never get your money back when you sell. And you will sell.

I am trying to sell both my Ducati Monster and WRX STi and both have about 10 mods each (non major performance enhancing or warranty expiring) but still I spent about 2k on each and am giving the mods away with the bike and car.

That being said, do whatever you think is right and will make you happy.

If I can actually land a super white manual for 41,700 on the dot....I will jump on it even though its too much money lol.

 

Still waiting for one to be allocated to my dealership where I placed my order for a Super White M/T but now I am torn between the Super White and Cement. I was told they should be able to source me a Manual Cement faster than a Manual White.

When I first saw the press release photos of the Cement I was really iffy and pretty set on the White, even when I saw it in person at the NYAS I was still iffy.

Now after seeing a couple of photos on lots I'm second guessing myself. The only white photos floating around are the super edited ones from Toyota and two poor photos from another TRD Pro thread.

Any additional photos of some super white TRD Pro's?

The technical comparison should be at MSRP, since that is what the manufacturer believe they are valued at. But you are not going to get a markdown on the Pro. Certainly not toward the invoice side of the price range like people are with sport/off-road. If you do, its a special case that the average person will have no chance of. Maybe if they significantly increase production in the next model year?
