Thanks for the info. What was your reason to strap the front? Axle bind?

TC installation instructions have you cut the steer stop off of the LBJ adapter and clearance the LBG cup a bit too ?

We cut it but I don't see how it can clear. When I had the LCA's off the truck seems like it would hit making a turn to the opposite way of the steering stop. So I'm not sure

I didn't really have a choice though, I'm a +2 LT kit not stock length.

I am running DK lowers and am happy. The steering isn't as sharp as oem and DK doesn't say to grind down the steering stops so I left them how they were. There is a small mark on the lowers when the steering stop hits them. I cannot comment on the TC but they are proven obviously, but they are also more expensive.
gl with that lol, I had to go to a metal yard to find some spare dom tubing to make my own press .. rented 2 bj press tools and neither would get the TC upper uniballs out ;\

On the DK lowers with the steer stop part on the lower you can absolutely grind your OE steer stops and you will regain a ton of turning radius. Grind the back edge of the steering stop at a 45 degree angle like this and it will clear enough material and hit the LCA at a perfect angle :

If you have the steer stop completely cut off the steering rack should stop before it hits the LCA

I work at a fab shop with lots of different sized tube, but I don't think I needed one with the Cornwell front end service kit I used to swap the uniball. It's been a while since I did it.

To prevent my uni-ball misalignment spacers from being limit straps. Once I fixed that with new misalignment spacers to prevent my Icons from being limit straps, and any chance of axle bind.

You only have to cut the steering stop and its not that bad. I have far better turning radius over my last truck. Sure after 55k miles on them the powder is wearing down but the same thing happens to the powder when you wheel. The edges and underside have taken some abuse over the years.

I believe you may be thinking of the modifications I had to do when I had the 08 with the PC spindles. They needed to be cleaned up with a dremel for clearing the UB cup.

The TCs are a great product and so are the DKs. Yes the TC R series are a bit on the pricey side but tried and true. Not sure what I wouldve done if DK existed when I was in the market 4 years ago.

I know what your are referring to but the TC instructions also showed some clearancing that needs to be done around the cup part of the LBJ adapter, just grinding the inside edge a bit. I tried to find the PDF but can't find it. It was posted in the old MT thread...

The turning radius comment was in regard the the DK lowers with a steer stop gusset on the lower.

I grinded a bunch off the top part of the adapter so it would clear the arm for up travel. My steering still hits

Wow, so the LBJ adapt still hits the lower just a little bit even with the stop chopped off ? Looks like both of you have the same small marks next to the uni cup.
