For those of us who will need to run a front plate, this bracket should do the trick. Ordered. More expensive then I would have liked but looks solid and cheaper than a ticket. Note, if you are keeping the winch hook attached, it will need to be attached to one of the shackles for the bracket/plate to sit flush. Once over just the rope/cable, it should mount nicely. If you choose to remove the hook, tuck cable into Hawse opening, there should be zero issues with mounting flush.

Looks like the plate mounts on with thumb screws for easy removal. Might be an idea to replace these with Allen head bolts if plate theft is a concern.

The factor 55 flat link might work underneath the license plate flip.

Interested in this bumper in bare metal. What type of coating would be needed to keep the look of the bare metal and stop rusting?

You can coat it with clear coat to keep the bare metal look.

I'm also in BC. Why don't you just get it shipped to Blaine and pick it up from there. That's what I'm doing. Edge Logistics (Kinek) will charge you $5 for anything up to 150lbs. Just set up an account with them online. It's right by the border.

Nice, Thanks for the info I will check it out. Wonder if it would be better just to have it installed in Blaine.

Might save you $50 at the border but there aren't really any shops nearby that I would trust to chop up my bumper.

I would advise against that. My understanding is that if you do any improvements to your vehicle, the border & customs guys have the right to charge you tax on the full value of your vehicle, not the improvements you made.

    Get it installed locally.

Talk to Jason at Cruisin Off Road in Chilliwack. He did my sliders and suspension install, too.

I can't remember the details (or even where I read it), but recently read something about those guys majorly butchering a big job.

    No personal experience with them.

Moving on, when the 2016 Tacoma was released, I just knew I'd be making a slimline hybrid for it and a very gracious member here on the board @LostSherpa allowed us to have his truck to prototype the first slimline hybrid for the new style Tacoma. We followed the same successful recipe as we did on the 4Runner slimline using heavier gauge steel for the bits you'd expect to be heavy but keeping the weight down using lighter gauge material where it wasnt as necessary. The design of the slimline hybrid is something I like to call OEM+, where if you werent very knowledgable on the Tacoma or 4Runner you might think this was the TRD version direct from the factory. We are truly pleased to introduce our latest labor of love to Tacoma World:

With all that said, it's a pleasure to start this product line and its been a pleasure interacting with the few members I've spoken to already from a previous thread. Please dont hestitate to ask any questions here directly on the forums or by calling our shop from 9-5 CST M-F at (225) 726-7979.

You can also browse our website at http://www.southernstyleoffroad.com or hit us up on facebook or instagram. The Tacoma bumper with its available options is listed here and has introductory pricing for at least the rest of July: http://www.southernstyleoffroad.com/product/2016-tacoma-slimline-hybrid-bumper/

    Thanks ya'll!

One of these bumpers is definitely on my "to-do" list. Any place for a black friday sale or something of that nature?

How long is the introductory price running for? I plan on getting this bumper for sure but my mods budget is getting out of control! Also, would a Smittybilt X2O (98510) work with this bumper?
