I'm in need of some new front struts and I've been eyeing the toytec boss kit. But still haven't made up my mind. I spend most of the time on the streets but want to do some offroading. Can't convince myself to get fox's or icon's just yet. So between Toytec Boss kit, Ultimate Toytec w/ bilsteins kit, OME, or 5100's. I have Total Chaos UCA's that should be here in a day or two and my truck already has a cap spacer lift. Im looking at getting a complete lift and changing out the one on my truck. I have my mind pretty much set on the Boss kit, I just want some feedback from this that are running these kits. I have a 2.7L extra-cab if that makes any difference

when you say you need new struts do you mean springs, shocks, or both? By 5100's are you referring to bilstein 5100's? Because those are just shocks and my suggestion if you only need shocks. They are also the same shocks featured in the ultimate toyotech kit if we are looking at the same kit

Take advantage of that uca and run some extended travel coilovers. Id pay extra couple hundred and get some king 2.5 non ressis.

OME if you want to set it and forget it. High end coilovers require maintenance and rebuilds. If you think you would enjoy removing them every once in a while to rebuild them, while spending a couple hundred bucks more, go for it! Otherwise, throw in some OME Nitrochargers and (in your case) 880 or 881 coil springs.

I have the full OME kit in my 2004 V6. Awesome on road, and very acceptable on dirt roads and FSRs.

I have the OME 881s/5100s on my front end, 2004 V6 4x4. In hindsight, I sort of wish I had gone up to maybe 885's since I don't think the 881s will like holding a bumper very much. 881s in your case though with the 4 banger might be perfect

I do a lot of road miles and some trail blazing and I'm happy with my rancho quick lift w add a leaf on the rear. But new leaf springs are a must soon

I'm referring to the full suspension kits that are sold on the Toytec site. My front struts are bad and the coils are all rusty so I'm looking at ditching the whole thing.

Even though I have the winch bumper? It's custom made 1/4 mounts and 3/16 surrounding.

Does anyone know the difference in the Toytec Boss and Toytec Ultimate kit's? As far as the shocks are concerned are the bilsteins better than the boss shocks?

Ah I didn't catch that part, yeah it might be better to go up to 885s then. Bumper and a winch is a lot of weight

The ultimates are basically just 5100s. Id pay nowhere near that much for 5100s just because theyre preload adjustable.

That's what I thought which is why I'd rather get the Boss kit. But now I'm thinking about the OME's :annoyed::help:
