that's one of the things I like about my S&W Governor. Load up .45acp, 45LC and .410 shells all in the same cylinder if mood strikes you.

Could not tell that from the review at all.

 

On the one hand, I can sympathize about all of the shifting. Listening to/feeling your car hunting for gears all the time gets annoying, especially in a poorly-insulated car where you hear every shift.
On the other hand, with consumer demand pushing towards higher mpg's and manufacturers responding with smaller engines and transmissions with more cogs, I'm still baffled that people complain that their car shifts so much.
Obviously yours was a rental so you didn't spec-out the 9 speed transmission. But if you're buying a car that has nine gears, don't be surprised when your car shifts for a hobby.
It seems like everybody expects their brand-new vehicle with 6, 7, 8, 9 speeds (etc) to shift like an old TH350 3 speed from the 80's, where the only way to get it to kick down was to stand on it.

 

Drove down to WV from CT yesterday to spend the weekend with the bro in law.

Didn't bring the Taco though. Brought the wife's car (Greyish Mazda CX 7). Stopped for a dinner break on 81 somewhere and saw a nice Taco. Black, NY plates, TRD beadlock wheels, looked like it had a bit of a lift, 2012+ with the chrome surround grille. Anyone on here? Was gonna go up to him and compliment his rig but I had the little ones with me and was trying to feed them.

If anyone here is in WV, Hurricane/Teays Valley area and sees a CX 7 with CT plates honk at me!

 

I can't imagine these transmissions hold up well over time too

 

I'm sure people will have to be more focused on preventive maintenance if they want them to last. Letting the fluid in one of those go for 100k-150k is probably NOT a solid plan.

 

it's not a huge service changing the transmission fluid, but it makes such a difference

Be interested to see how the new Fiat Spider does. I think it's a pretty good looking car, but who knows about the rest...
