I thought we weren't supposed to use the word "up" in the presence of short people?

And of course..hee hee..that hot Asian chick said "hard"

Ground the antenna - mount in an easy place to reach. Route antenna cable through the driverside or passenger side floorpan grommet. If you're mounting on the hood then run through the same grommet that the hood pop cable goes through. I ran independent power to mine but I tapped power from the fuse box for @DoubleRGirl when I installed her. Remember that the bed is floating so I grounded my tailgate antenna mount to the frame (there's a 12mm bolt behind the rear driverside wheel on the frame) Also if your bracket is painted - check conductivity, both brackets I have used didn't work with the Firestik Firering without sanding past the paint on the mounting holes for the antenna and the mounting holes for the truck side.

As for tuning - I suck at it so.... Ideally the farther away from metal and the higher the antenna the better but I have a cap and mounted with a tailgate mount.

No wonder the FJ got egged.... Seth was probably parading around the neighborhood dressed as a princess!
    Ouch, that really sucks!
I know this may seem odd to you, but most people only have one set of wheels and tires for their vehicle. :boink:
    Don't fuck it up.

Making sure it's grounded properly is probably the most important thing, and trying not to crimp the coax at all during installation. If you can draw power right from the battery to avoid any potential interfere from interior electronics

I love my new truck but miss my Tacoma
Wire direct to battery and do not coil your antenna wire. If the wire is too long figure out a way to spead it out without coiling it

Maybe get some of the TW guys to race at F1 Boston or the electric ones in Kingston? Still haven't been able to do that.

If offer to invite all of you to my private race track, but my entire car collection is in the shop getting footprint gas pedals installed.

I started down that path with the Tacoma (multiple sets of wheels and tires), but I've come back from the dark side and am back to only a single set of wheels / tires for my truck. Although I was also keeping a second set for my wife's car, which I need to do again for the new one. I like her to have studded snows for the winter.

Some of the new carts have flip down things on the pedals. I did that when I raced at F1 Boston except I only flipped down the gas pedal. I had no intentions of ever using that other nuisance pedal.
