Spoke to a very nice, polite, customer service gent , he took all my information.
Gave me a new case file number .
He looked for existing complaints resembling mine, and TSB's , said none existed that he could find for a buzzing vibration problem.
My reply -- Are you serious ?
They are referring me back to my dealership's service dept., who is supposed to research their "Techline" for
similar problems and get back to me in 48 hrs.

Yeah, so that response is what they're trained to say when Toyota doesn't have a fix or explanation for the problem. We've all received the same response both from case managers and the initial reps on the phone. Kudos for putting in a complaint and opening up a case number...its our only chance for getting a TSB released. The transmission TSB flash being a good example where enough people complained and Toyota actually did something about it.

Keep us posted on what your dealer says though. If they're good, they'll acknowledge there's an issue (but will say they have no fix, like mine did).

Now, when I called last OCTOBER, 2015, I could see them saying this as the truck was quite new. For you to have recently called and still gotten the same BS is just disingenuous.

Many of us have/were assigned to 'Monique' in SoCal. If she calls you, say hi! She'll give you the same line of "no one else has complained of something like this" BS.

    Good luck.

sounds about right. no issues reported, it's fine and designed that way.

They wanted me to do the same and keep running back and forth to the dealer
for an issue the dealer already said "was normal" I politely told her there was no
way I'm spending my free time at a dealer who already said "it's normal" and clearly
wasn't going to spend any more time on the issue just because you want to keep
wasting my time and sending me back. I have a piece of foam under my mat in the
only area that has the slight vibe ( the foot rest ) with that there it's hardly noticeable
so if they find a fix great, if they don't', I've moved on.

Yes, I sent them several links. They ignored them. My dealer actually looked at them; however, had nothing to say except that they could do nothing unless Toyota Corporate admitted to the issue and sent a TSB or recall fix.

I sent the link to my local dealer and they replied they had no reports of vibration issues. I also spoke with the head mechanic at Toyota on Oahu, representing a good chunk of dealers in Hawaii, and same response.

Typical, no reason for them to admit it without Toyota having a TSB to fix it. The tech who rode with me admitted theres excessive vibration off the bat. He thought the motor mounts might be stiff which is causing all the feedback in the cabin and pedal/steering wheel.

As soon as he mentioned it to the service manager, the service manager took it for a ride on his own (without me there) and said "its normal".

Ultimately, Toyota leadership and the majority of service managers will continue to disavow any knowledge of it because theres no incentive to fix it. I honestly dont see it ever getting fixed at this point

Also, I had two Toyota customer care reps tell me that they've heard of the issue too. Its really up to who you speak to on the phone. Toyota is well aware of this issue.

hi guys, mine (2016 TRD OR 2WD) started doing a vibration once it reaches exactly 79-81 MPH, you can see the front pass seat shaking, it started after the 1st maintenance , took it back and rebalanced the wheels, but still does it, will contact CS to file the report

The problem in this thread is RPM related not speed related.

Start posting about Toyota and its neglect of this problem (and others) on other websites and forums devoted to "truck related" activities - ATVs, fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, etc. so that more people get the message. Anytime you read a "review" of the vehicle by an automotive journalist, use a comment on the story to refer them to this and other threads on this forum detailing all the problems.

A public shaming? Why not. In the past, Toyota had a reputation for reliability. They currently rest on the myth of this rep. However, it looks as though they have, and are willing to continue, to be no better and in some cases much worse, than the North American auto manufacturers when it comes to denying problems and their obligation to customers.

Agreed. I got the call [February 2016] indicating the "Toyota rep," tested similar vehicles with the same results [Normal] the same day the local dealer told me my truck was "not repairable." [Toyota rep. never tested my truck]. Offered refund. Sounded like Toyota corporate was reading from a script.

You should have heard the phone message that 'Monique' left me...a long monotone comment about how Toyota appreciated my letter and comments, blah, blah, blah. It was so 'scripted', and that's the way she read it...didn't even put any life into it.....I certainly was not surprised; however, somewhere out there, 'Monique' was able to click the box to say she contacted me, allowing her to re-close the case.

I was told I would hear from my dealer within 48 hrs,
that deadline passed 2 days ago.
Techline must be experiencing an unexpected surge in usage !
