Did the "no more a/c" mod today my a/c compressor took a shit

Remember the other day when i mentioned that I had higher engine temps.... well when we were in line at the drive thru, i looked down and saw the temp gauge higher, we then heard a 6-7 second "hissing". Didn't know what the hell it was, i immediately turned of the a/c then the truk since we were standing still. Lost cool air on the way home....

Fast forward... today after work i hook up the a/c machine, evac all of 0.05 lbs of freon. Turns out, the system pressure got too high and the compressor purged the pressure, that was the hissing i heard. So i did a system vacuum and inject a/c dye(oil), and charge it. Blows cool for 10 minutes while running in the shop and the 6 minute drive to the turn into my neighborhood (yes, i live that close to work ). Get out of the truck and hear hissing and smell freon. So i said shit. Look past the left front suspension to the compressor. I see the dye (looks like predator's blood) splattered all over the engine mount, subframe and the back side of the compressor. So.... eventually I'll have to get a new compressor

 

Forget A/C and convert the compressor into on board air. So much win.

 

That would be bad ass. I don't use the a/c when I'm by myself, but i need it for the wife and kids.

 

My AC took a shit last October. Really been missing that this summer.

 

Well I got to make another apparence with the cops tonight. 2 black kids in a new Camero out street racing my neighborhood just took out a transformer right behind my house and ran into a house. I came outside to see them get out and run and chased them about a mile through a few yards, and down a street, bare foot, until they finally stopped and layed on the ground until a cop got there. Haha got my cardio in for the night.

 

While you were chasing them, were you humming along to the Cops theme?

I caught them. I cut them off after they went around a corner on the side walk and i cut through a persons back yard and hopped a retainer wall and came out basically right in front of them. In hindsight it was probably a bad idea to comfront them but i don't really think that far. I figure in that sitiation, if i get my ass kicked then i at least tired them out more and wasted time. Haha but they just gave up. They were 2 young kids and we're pretty scared. Kid told me he was driving, what they were doing, where he lived and was more worried about facing his dad after destroying his 40k Camero then anything else. I tried to help him out by telling him the best thing he can do now is keep his mouth shut. I think I'm in the wrong profession

Hahaha you ain't lying. But I didn't say much. I don't care about your problems. I just relish at playing hero ball whenever presented the opportunity.

 

Anyone want a 05 tacoma with 40k miles and 1908 front suspension? My buddy at carmax just got this as a trade in and it's on their wholesale lot for 17k. He said it's actually done really well. At least from a cosmetic stand point. He said it rides like a wood wheel carriage though. Haha

 

If only it was SAS with coilovers.

 

Same damn thing I said. I told him I'd probably come down there today and make him an offer on it.

 

What's a round about price difference between doing a SAS with leafs vs. coils with links? If you're gonna do it you might as well do it right.
